  1. Loved your videos about Sardinia and Rome! Bravo chef. I once, in NY, was eating at a 'run of the mill' Italian restaurant and they brought to the table bread and olive oil served from a bottle to a small deep plate…. It was out of this world. Had never tasted olive oil so delicious.

  2. The best olive oil I ever had was a Greek brand called Minerva. This was about twenty years ago, so I am sure it has changed. I still remember the flavor and miss it. This walk down memory lane reminds me that back in those days people were holding olive oil tastings at their homes (though I never went to one). Times have changed. I wonder why people always want to go out these days when it was so much fun to have people come over for a meal and not be rushed. I guess people enjoy their phone more than other people.

  3. Thanks for the clip George! You can get the genuine, proper Roman dishes at Roscioli in SoHo. It's hard to get a res, but they have are directly linked to Rome.. FWIW, many of my favorite Italian olive oils are from Puglia.

  4. olive oil out of Argolida Peloponnese Greece is the best… you're greek you should know and support

  5. I could walk around Rome all day ! As good as the food was in Rome , Naples and Sicily blew me away with their food. Sicily for me , best food ever ❤❤ can't wait to go back

  6. Stumbled upon your vid by accident and thoroughly enjoyed it. I grew up outside Avellino in a town that was buried by Vesuvius ashes many times. Fiano was our daily table wine and not many can compare. Thanks for mentioning! You must try Falanghina, Greco dí Tufo, Lacryma Christi and Coda di Volpe. Salute!

  7. As Calabrese where 'nduja or tropea onions and Camigliatello potatoes and many more are the products I affirm that Tuscany olive oil is the best!

  8. Thanks for sharing these Michelin starred culinary experiences. However, I sincerely hope you had the time to try the amazing Roman food that Romans eat everyday. Fancy cuisine is in every cosmopolitan city, but where else can you get a true cacio e pepe, carciofi alla giudia, bucatini all'amatriciana, or numerous versions of pizza al taglio?

  9. I look forward to visiting Italy again. I think there are many great places to eat there, but they tend to be expensive or hard to find for tourists. This leaves many visitors disappointed with their food experience there. I think Italy may need to find ways to make good and inexpensive varietal food and produce more accessible to the average traveler. For instance maybe fresh fruit vendors like you find in many other cities like Los Angles or Istanbul. Im also thinking of places like the Il Trapizzino restaurants. They offer traditional Italian flavors, at affordable prices for those weary sight- seers on the go. I know Italy is anti-fast food, but maybe more palaces like this is a happy compromise.

  10. as a south american from colombia now living in canada and been to italy many times because aside being my favourite country with japan in the world . i consider italy as a living museum, its overwhelming with its beauty and history . it would take a life time to see part of italy and its towns are so fascinating with their original foods that you never heard of but wow.

  11. Just a note from a viewer from Piedmont: I couldn't understand exactly what you said about it, but "bagna caoda" (sometimes written "cauda", and pronounced "cow-duh") literally means "warm dip". 😉 Thanks for the video!

  12. The best olive oil I tried? Oh, even being Italian from Avellino I haven't travelled all Italy, but the best I tried? Oil of Melfi, near Potenza, straight from the mill. Delicious. They don't sell it abroad I fear, abroad meaning even here in Avellino is unobtainable, only locally or if you take upon yourself to travel there, and if you think Sardinia has mountainous windy roads, go get a gander at the roads to get in Melfi, you'll change your mind.

  13. Im from Rome and I produce organic extra Virgin olive oil by cold extraction.
Hit me up if u need😂

    No seriously tho

  14. Thanks man! This and the one on Sardinia are two beautiful and really informative videos (even for me, an Italian living abroad for 25 years)!

  15. Great videos of Rome and Sardegna👍l have been living in Tuscany since marriage to an Italian, every region has its wonderful extra virgin olive oil, it’s unthinkable to use anything less🤷🏻‍♀️ as well as fantastic regional dishes!! I’m definitely a “foodie” so luckily l live in the right place!! Americans need to force the government into providing the people with quality food products!! It’s unthinkable that a country like the United States should have such a low bar when it comes to one of the most important needs of humanity 😕

  16. There is almost more variety in oils than in wines here in italy…. the sad part is that even most italians don't really grasp how diverse they are most of the time. We either use the olive oil produced in our zone or buy the brands found in the supermarkets… very few restaurants will have more than one kind of olive oil.
