Don’t vandalize anything anywhere!!!
got back 3 hrs ago
If you are from Sicilian ancestry don't say you are "Italian"
No cappuccino after 10 am-ever
The proprietor arguing about the milk reminded me of my visit back in the late '80s. It seemed that arguing was a Roman sport. Everywhere we went we saw people arguing. There seemed to be a whole section of the railroad station waiting room set aside for people arguing. There was a telephone center (yes, it's a long time ago.) and there were signs on the phones with instructions – but they didn't work. I told the man running the phone center, and he tried to explain to me that I was wrong (about what I don't remember.) But when I showed him the instructions on the phone, he started running around to all the phones pulling off the signs. Classic! Loved Rome so much. Ate at Fieramosca Roma for traditional cuisine with plenty of historic ambiance.
y would a stranger care what another stranger puts on their food that they are paying for
I think I'm the only person who doesn't go anywhere for the food. I'm not one of those who seeks out the fast food places either and I like trying new things (allergies allowances though) but really, I'm about the looking around and experiencing the people than I am about the eating and drinking. Funny story, my brother went to his sister in law's wedding up by Venice. My brother asked for a glass of milk and they didn't know how to serve it to him. They brought it in a water glass on a plate. They had never seen an adult drinking a glass of milk before.
I was surprised how friendly the Romans were. I assumed that they would be so sick of tourists that they would at least be grumpy. Quite the opposite! They are friendly, helpful, and so much fun. 😊
I've had the best experiences with locals in Rome so far.
❤❤❤
2:07 this disappointed me when I visited, I came with a friend who would only eat at McDonalds
Spaghetti alla carbonara was created for Americans stationed in Rome during WWII.
You are one of my earliest subscriptions on youtube. Maybe we'll meet in Rome, my lovely city. I'd like to show you things that maybe you haven't seen yet 😉
I' m italian but i can ask for milk in my coffee and even for a cappuccino, no matter the hour
Italy is top of the bucket list. If I have to work 2 extra years of my life to pay for the trip I will do it.
I didn't quite visit Trastevere when I was in Rome, but I did eat at the old Jewish Quarter and the food there was great.
You work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $5K into trading from just few months ago and now they are multimillionaires
In summation, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
The best melanzana I had in Rome was in one hole in a wall close to San Giovanni in Laterano. We only went in because it started raining and we had amazing food. We came back few days later because we loved it so much.
And to order carbonara + cappuccino ?? 😱
Actually we Italians don't drink cappuccino after a certain time and our eating habits are a little different from what tourists look for when they come to visit us, but Italy is a free and democratic country and everyone can eat how and what they want. The most that can happen is finding a waiter who explains to you that you can't put cheese on fish or refuses to bring you ketchup to season your pasta 😅.
The important thing is to be polite and not deface our historical and artistic heritage, that being said, have fun and enjoy yourself!
Thanks for the video! Can’t wait to visit soon!!
Beautiful ❤❤
Don’t make any contact with the wrist band scam artists
try to take a photo in places where it is prohibited,
ruchi ka customer ticket ke lie kitna try karrha, fokat me foreign trip
don't do the crossed-arm thumbnail thing. it's just dumb.
Yes, don’t drive your rental down the Spanish Steps. 😊 Seriously, though, Romans are a friendly lot.
As always, nice video, Wolter.
The idea that Romans get annoyed at tourists staying in touristy areas is nonsense. They want you to stay in the touristy areas. If they started mobbing all the places left that the locals use to relax THEN they would get upset. Ridiculous advice given straight after "don't vandalize things or people will get upset" 🙄 which is also ridiculous advice. Who is this aimed at? Really stupid people?
Local Romans do not eat in the tourists restaurants.
