UK has great antique, secondhand & charity shops if not better than a lot of countries.
Some nice long-case clocks Julie. Definitely keep that jug – it is a star!
Thanks Julie😊. Do you remember how much the antique copper planter was worth at the store?❤
I just loved that watercolor that looked like Italy at the end. Beautiful! I'm living in Tuscany now. That copper kettle on the shelf opposite it was also beautiful.
Once in college I asked our resident architecture professor what was the most important quality to find in a well designed house? And he said, “Surprise! And laughter!” I never forget that, which is why I painted my dorm room floor pumpkin orange with black woodwork and a very light peach wall!! So cheerful on long dark NewHampshire winter days!
You can use that slightly bashed up spaniel for a bedroom door stopper if it is heavy enough. Heavy bookends can do the same thing. Go back and get the nine drawer spice cabinet for the kitchen with the Italian pottery drawers! Where you found that dark brown vase, in the back corner. So cute! Teddy bear for a window sill ! Wonderful big rabbit for an odd corner somewhere! I thot Luke was going to have your old furniture in the storage barns repaired for the cottage?
Those two wooden chairs behind you would be wonderful in front of the huge fireplace! Where you were looking at the pictures. Also in the top shelf of the bookcase is a wonderful large copper tea kettle which would look great in or near that fireplace! And is there a hob (?) in the fireplace that swings out? You could hang the kettle from it!
That guy on the front of the old candy tin with the Tower of London is a “yeoman warden” also called a beefeater. They are the hereditary guards of the Tower and are responsible for guarding prisoners of the Tower, and they also guard the Crown Jewels!! Very British! Fill that tin with chocolates for guests and you will be loved!
All those vibrant orange/red vases @ 39mins would go great with the crayfish painted fireplace.
You lost the cake tin half way through the video unless the cameraman is carrying it for you.
Yes to candle sticks and cake tin. Absolutely love all that you do.
That vintage spool could be a single hat rack
Curious, how much in the cake holder??
I will say, that cake container is your kitchen’s colors.
So, so many beautiful things, what a great way to spend a few hours. I love rummaging.
I would consider the piece of furniture you referred to as a "dresser" a server. It would be perfect in a small dining room. I have an old one I bought in the cotswolds in my entry hall and use it for gloves. And do people actually buy magazines anymore? I don't. The price on a magazine has gone way up over here. I read everything online. We need to figure out how to re-purpose our magazine racks.
Also, it's good to group items in odd numbers. Same in gardening with plants.
And, I'm a reseller here in Indiana so I know that the green glass you showed is Uranium glass. It glows under a black light. Highly collectable. I sold a set of 4 plates yesterday.
Personally, I would prefer the silver and wooden candlesticks to the brass for my home but would be reluctant to allow candles in a rental. If the electric goes out, maybe provide a flashlight or two instead? I've had VRBO rentals and people do stupid stuff.
Hat stands would be easy to make.
Pretty linens are also great for resellers because they're not that heavy and they don't break in shipping. Umbrella stands in a rental are a good idea and you could provide the umbrellas too.
Anything Staffordshire is hot for reselling.
The sniffing is irritating.
Love the crocks, and wow what a good buy!! ❤❤
Love that cake keeper! 🍰
My favorite kind of video, Julie! Love to watch you shop!
Love those jugs
make lamp bases with the earthenware pots with Pooky lampshades for the cottage?
How much is the playmobil doll house toward beginning of video?
My favorite thing to do is antiquing, love love love. And in England!?!? Fabulous 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Maybe the watercolor is Santorini??
Julie, any Coronation mugs, I have none, so any in good condition that would be available are fab. Thx for thinking of us. cgzone8
Please Please do not hold old jugs, pitchers or vases with handles, by the handles, as it will be the weakest part of the item as they are generally applied after the vessel is shaped. Just a little hint, as I cringed when you picked up the older pieces.
I want cakes!!! Love your videos😊
Nothing worse than listening to someone who doesnt carry on them a paper napkin!
Julie, have you thought about putting stuff in the house price on it to sale? There’s another show where they actually sell the items in the pictures on the wall if people want. That would let you shop more all the time.
Love the tall milk can. In the stall with the bamboo magazine rack
You could probably put a few rocks in the bottom of the enamel pitcher and use it for an umbrella. If its tall enough. ❤
A hotplate is what you cook on; an electric or gas hotplate
For those out in the audience if you buy a ceramic/pottery vase that is not sealed inside so your water so it bleeds, heat up bees wax and warm the vase. Pour the bees wax into the vase and swirl it around from top to bottom. All it takes is one coating and as long as the wax does not crack it will be water proof. If it does develop a leak just heat it up to melt the wax and it will reseal. Sometimes you can heat the vase up a bit that the wax goes into the porous clay and created a better seal. Ues only bees wax because the roaches will eat the soy wax and take away your seal.
Julie!!!! Ok ok ok I need those king George the 6th and queen mother cup and saucer and the egg cup and also the Prince Charles and princess Diana cup!! I'll pay $60 for the lot!🎉 Great finds and wonderful shop!! ❤
Please could you look for a tatting shuttle? Thank you.
I have a big milk glass punch bowl love it found in my local thrift shops
You passed a fox hunt plate that i wish you had showed us
Find a game plate set to hang on the wall in dining room.
I'd love to have the cake tin please
Pronounced Baby Sham! With a ‘sh’ not a ‘ch’!
My husband and I have just become empty nesters, the cake tin would be ideal for when we explore the uk now we have our newly found freedom 😊❤
Yes, def, the candlesticks.
