Thanks!
I have an Asian Mom and Western father and grew up in SE Asia (including Thailand) much of my life.
Sadly the young generation now does not understand the concept of working as a summer "Intern" and learn the trade before expecting a salary from any restaurant.
Volunteering as an Intern in a known business with a supporting review from your Manager is a fantastic addition on any resume / CV!
First question is priceless. What is Earn like. Like asking is she a good girl ? 555
Where are your lives? I can’t find them on your page ?
Great episode! I'll definitely check out some of the restaurant suggestions that Neo mentioned.
Rare to work younger than 18 in Thailand?!? I have been to 100s of thai restaurants, internet cafes, retail shops etc – and there are kids (literally 9 or 10 years old and sometime younger) bringing me my dish, taking my money, and showing me items etc.
I remember, when a diabetic tries to communicate with the staff, that he wants his meal without sugar, but what the guy didn`t understand, that this is a hierarchic system, between staff and kitchen. They only get the handwritten paper or they see the order on the display, but there is no communication, because they are not on the same level. Lets say, in the kitchen is working a former criminal, and the staff are young students, so the staff does not want direct contact, and the kitchen staff doesn`t want, that a young staffmember is telling them, what they would have to do, cause only the boss is giving orders, not he staff, that`s the way, it works. TiT. (it`s all about avoiding the the “bplam”-problem, so keep the distance)
Supposedly, there's a lot of Filipinas that work at Hooter's on Soi 4; which might explain the English writing.
