I am in Italy on a 10 day flying visit and am cramming in as many jobs as I can in between and around my day job. This is the second instalment from my short trip to my farmhouse in Le Marche where I continue with the jobs that I have the materials to work on. I render the window frame, trial some roof insulation, and get parts of the land set up ready for the crazy fast growth that will hit me hard come spring.

Thanks for watching.

Richard. 🍷

  1. Did I spot what looks like rosemary to me, near that old trough you moved? If so, there 's another free lot of plants for you to propagate. Cheers.

  2. Listened to the Oasis song, what a BANGER! You might want to offer a song recommendation per episode! Awesome, thanks from Calgary, Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦

  3. You gave me a brainwave… how about you turn the spare land into your own private pitch and putt? (must be a revenue / content opportunity in there too….!)

  4. You’re awesome 😎 We loved the multi screen portions. 🔥 Yep, we’re subscribers and watch every bit! Cheers🍷

  5. Is this renovation going to happen? We’ve been talking about taking down the deck for 3+ episodes.

  6. Love your videos, Richard, and really admire your vision for your patch. Best song though – Anchor Me, by The Muttonbirds (no histrionics by the band members, either 😉 ).

  7. Yep, spotted the Brunello again. It's there for consumption though🙃(allthough it might be t he sceond bottle…..or the third) #yougotonelifeliveit (you probably have seen that on some Defenders in the UK. And by the way I prefer The Verve.

  8. Did a bit of diy plastering and found that having one of those cheap plastic spray bottles with water in was handy. A little spray on to the applied plaster when it didn’t take great helped and also worked when smoothing it off. I’m absolutely a novice at it and just found out through trial and error but it worked for me. A plasterer might tell you different though.

  9. Hi here is Claudia from Corinaldo. It is really so much work. When we got our land we made a mistake we regret really, like you we sowed grass all arround in our foodforest – and we struggle because the trees don’t like it and it is nearly impossible to weed this properly. Today i would seed clover instead which is good for the nutrition of the trees. When we are back to italy we can also give you cuttings of thyme rosemary and salvia 😊

  10. How can you say you haven't got much soil ? whilst planting pots up. Surely you've got three acres of soil ! you're gonna take the plants out of the compost and put them in the ground, so why not prepare them for the native soil by mixing the two together. Be it a 50/50 mix or 25/75, 33/66, whatever floats your boat.

  11. I so enjoy your videos. And also your commentary. I would suggest you save the time editing with music overlays and continue to give us your thoughts. I think that's what makes your channel unique and charming.
Have you considered a field of poppies for ground cover?

  12. I really enjoy your videos.

I think that the landscaping fabric will prevent any plants (weeds, grass, etc.) from growing and will make sure that you always have bare soil. And that defeats the purpose. The fabric will always be a problem and until you change it, you will be fastening it down after blowing around in storms.

In Canada, we have a product that is sprayed onto slopes like that – usually along highways. It’s called hydroseeding and it’s a mix of chopped up straw, fertilizer and grass seed. It gets sprayed onto the slope and within 3 to 4 weeks there’s a good cover of grass. That’s what you need to fix the problem.

  13. Cheers Richard, even being 56 and from Scotland I was never really into Oasis as I much preferred Ocean Colour Scene… but on your recommendation I stuck Columbia on Tidal and it's not a bad track at all so I can defo understand the crank that dial urge.
funny thing is that I really like Noels High Flying Birds… anyways good work this week stay safe

  14. A lawn that size is a huge undertaking! Well done! Would you consider a wildflower patch? Helpful to pollinators.

  15. hi rich u got to make an hour long special !!!. its got to be best half hour programme on u tube. For anyone looking to move to italy or get a place its a must watch . Keep doing the channel its really great 😊👍👍👍

  16. Another great video, love the editing, split screens etc.
Sorry but it has to be The Stone Roses Love Spreads turned up full blast for me, can't beat those riffs and vocals yeah yeah yeah.
Keep up the good work 👌

  17. You should lightly scratch in the grass seed (if that's what I saw), lightly with rake, even a whisk rake works, in one direction, not back & forth, just lightly covering most of the seed.

Also, mentioned this before and not sure if answered. My understanding is citizens of the U.K. can obtain Irish passports. Ireland is still in the E.U., you might then not have the time restrictions you currently are limited to. Worth a look into.

  18. As usual enjoyed the video. I like the way a few glasses of wine get the creative juices flowing. 😅. I’ve done some of my best projects after vino, then again some not.

  19. love the little music interludes! i discovered the smiths’ ‘how soon is now’ from your channel actually and it’s now one of my favourites. occasionally showcasing some music you like might make for a nice addition to the channel
