Italian Organic wine producer Alessandra Bera talks about the meaning of Natural Wine and how she and her family received a fine for claiming that their Barbera d’Asti was naturally made. In Piedmont, Italy at Vittorio Bera & Figli, they believe that “Vino Naturale” starts in the vineyard and requires native yeasts and no manipulation, though she and her family do add small amounts of sulfur. Alessandra sat with Ask a Winemaker at Red and White in Chicago in 2013.
