I’m French and this is how you should spend 48 hours in Paris!
This is what I personally recommend my friends who are visiting Paris for the first time or just want to see the city like a local with what to do and what to skip!

Brit here. I adore France. Been holidaying their since I was a kid.
Its fun discovering it as an adult, and I LO-OV-OVE the Alpes 🎉😊
Only 48 hours would be really unsatisfactory;))
Another beautiful place to visit, is the Opera. My cousin took me there, after a 7 hour flight. It's gorgeous. Last summer, I spent a lot of time at the Luxembourg Gardens. I would go there, and rest, for a hour, or two, after walking around the city. Very relaxing. The Medici Fountain, is beautiful.
Super….super…super…you're hot.
Onion soup: that's not true, it's something you eat after a night partying to help sobering up, for instance.
And there are some great onion soups especially with cheese (that quaint cheese restaurant on rue Mouffetard between rue Saint Medard and rue Ortolan used to have a great one with grated cantal, if memory serves)
In amongst all the cheesy glitzy wide eyed tours of Paris I found yrs & that was a great find
Ah, when you’re gluten free you cannot just go to a bakery😿😿
That's why Istanbul to me is the world most beautiful city along with Rio de Janeiro
hi Lucile.. speaking of walking how many steps a day on average people are raking? i need to prepare my steps game 😂 thanks!
The cooler is designed for heat exposure!
A few dos and don'rs from an Anglophile Briton with sixty years of experience in visitng all parts of France.
Do :
– Teach waitresses in smart luxury hotels to ask American gentleman visiting with their wives "ow iz eet 'anging?"
– Cook your snails before eating them
– Try to imitate that much-loved and great French artist Le Petomane in every occupied lift you enter
– Tell every other driver in Paris who irritates you, "encules-toi"
_ If you have a dog in Paris behave exactly like a Parisian and encourage it to defecate on the pavement outside ideally a boulangerie and if one cannot be reached in time, a patisserie.
Do not :
– Be sick from the top floor of the Eiffel Tower, no matter what you have been eating
– Say in a loud voice in any language when visiting the tomb of Napoleon, "he was such a little man wasn't he"?
– Kick your cat in front of the locals in the street but wait until you get home to do that
– Call the (male) patron of your favourite bar "Ma biche". At least, not in public.
Wonderful video, I'm doing some research on Paris because I hope to be able to go on a student exchange in a few years, my stay in the city would be quite long if I manage to go for 1 year so there would be plenty of time to explore the city, but I really want to prepare myself to truly enjoy it, take memories for myself so that I can remember a wonderful experience like I’m sure this one would be. I would really like to live and ~experience~ Paris for what it is, how exciting. Thanks for what you share with us, new subscriber!
How is it possible that your American boyfriend looks even more French than you 😂?
Racelette is from Switzerland😂
Steak-frites isn't French. It's Belgian 🙂
who are these locals ?
Simple lunches are everything. When I was hiking in the South of France, I had a sandwich made with a baguette, cheese and a type of sandwich meat. I had that a few years ago, and I still remember that over more expensive meals that I have had.
I was able to get right up there & see the Mona Lisa. And I ate dinner at the the Eiffel Tower & every bite was delicious!
Hi what was the name of the ceramic painting cafe?
This Friday we are there, we want to enjoy and take a new vlog for our new channel on YouTube.Thank you your video was very helpful❤
Thanks for your tips. I'm heading to Paris next week! Hope it snows! First trip overseas!
We are in Paris right now. We brought our dog, any 🐕 friendly tips?
Why pay for eggs and mayo? I don't get it…
Studied in Paris in 2021 and we did almost everything you mentioned (great tips). Love the Luxembourg Gardens. Tame impala lonerism cover was taken there!
Egg with mayo, so nice. In the US, they're called deviled eggs. 🙂
Merci Bien Lucile, which spots do you suggest where to take photos in Paris, even with grey and cold weather? Grazie mille Cherie (I stole cherie from arsenio Lupin 3). Rock ON! We will have exactly 48h
I’m planning to spend 7 days in Paris. Solo. I’m concerned about pick pockets
Love watching you….may I suggest you keep your voice volume up when you come to the end of sentences. You tend to drop the last few words into pianissimo…… which feels like you’re swallowing them. Merci à vous!
I’ve seen a few of your videos. I don’t understand why you drink shots of espresso, instead of café au lait!?
You and Bobby are so cute!
How can someone so intelligent like me end up jobless and no sponsor whatsoever. It's called discrimination.
Bonjour Lucile! I couldn't find your email address to ask — If I buy both two of your maps now, will those maps get updated as you make any changes in the future? I'm asking because I don't know if I have to wait to buy these until I make a trip to Paris in the future.
I am writing from Paris as a tourist, staying here for one week so I can do considerable amount of stuff 🎉
The Louvre is currently (2025) open 2 evenings per week until 9pm Wednesday and Friday (this changes from year to year so check online) and especially in winter, those evenings are often a great time to see the Mona Lisa!
Good Morning hope you doing well thank you for all your information i want to know if you give a tour in paris and my friend and i will be coming in april and i wrote you an e-mail but no answer please let me know or if you recommend someone who would love to show us paris with lots of food and fun things to do thank you

I’m going to Paris tomorrow and a little nervous since I’m going alone but I will just follow Lucile’s advice. To just feel the vibe and walk around.
