10 Ways to spot a tourist in Italy (and how to fit in!)…Andiamo!

1) Don’t wear yoga pants or sweats outside of the gym.
2) Avoid wearing ‘la bandiera italiana’ – the Italian flag.
3) NEVER put ‘il formaggio’ – cheese on fish pasta.
4) Confused why your pizza isnโ€™t cut into slices? Don’t fold it, cut it first, then eat with your hands or knife and fork
5) Don’t overfill your ‘(il) vino’ – wine. Pour enough to fill about one-third of the glass.
6) Leave ‘le infradito’ – flip-flops (Literally: between the toes) for the beach.
7) Order your last cappuccino by noon.
8) Unless it’s summer, always bring a jacket. Wearing just a t-shirt in ‘l’autunno’ – autumn will stick out among Italians.
9) Be polite, but don’t smile at everyone.
10) Don’t order a pizza to share. Pizzas are generally made to be eaten by a single person.
