  1. Typical American 1 star reviews are people expecting a pile of garbage at a cheap price, Americans don't understand European portion sizes which is why there is a bigger problem of OBESITY in America than in Europe…

  2. Ma noooooooo 😂 honestly, I do not go out to eat Italian food. When I want some, I make it; which is almost every day. I went to a few but only one in NYC POMODORO made the best Italian food years ago.Nicola chef was the best. After that I don't eat Italian food out.

  3. They can say they are Mediterranean Clams but, are they really?
There is an Italian restaurant here in Ct. named Bellini`s Italian Cuisine that used to serve stuffed fillet of "sole" but, they use flounder instead of sole.
And they thought no one noticed. Maybe that`s why they took it off the menu?
They too have Zuppa Di Vongole, but they say on the menu, it`s made with little neck clams. And it`s still $28.
Why not just call it Zuppa di Clams?
    Love when you review restaurants.

  4. My former workmate worked in the sandwich bar with a tshirt saying NO CREAM IN CARBONARA!! I loved Gennaro!

  5. Hi Vincenzo. I've been a devoted fan of your channel for a number of years.

I have one request. Please remove the click-bait comment "Fake Italian" because it's not at all an accurate reflection of the video. Your comments are 90% positive and the phrase "Fake Italian" sounds insulting to New York Italian cuisine, a city which has some of the best Italian food (with American elements) outside of Italy.

I don't think reading one-star reviews is very helpful. There are many people in this world who love to complain and who are never satisfied. They could eat in the greatest restaurant, and they give it one star. They can watch the greatest movie ever made, and they give it one star. Complaining online makes these people feel powerful.

Also, one-star reviews are sometimes written by the owners of a rival restaurant, or their friends.

Reading three-star reviews might be helpful. It means they liked it but to them it's not perfect.

Thank you and keep up the good work!

  6. For me, this kind of video is not very interesting.

How to evaluate a restaurant by reading its menu and looking at the photos on its website?

    How to take the comments?

You live in Australia and you are evaluating a restaurant in NYC!

You have to go, sit down, order, eat and then give a review…

  8. Imo, the East Coast has nothing that has real Italian food. What about Rhode Island? No. Probably not. Even though I was born there. The only thing that could be “Italian” is wine biscuits and pepper biscuits. Maybe. I know Del’s Lemonade is not Italian. Maybe. But it is not like Open Legs Lemonade. Maybe Rhode Island’s Del’ Lemonade is a take on Open Legs Lemonade, but they’re made differently.

  9. Can’t use covid as an excuse. Just think it could be these restaurants can’t handle the high demand so they’re using cheap ingredients by cutting costs. It’s not because covid. They had two or three years to take everything up and running before covid. New Yorkers becoming lazy.

  10. I've been watching a lot of Disney World videos and they have plenty of eateries billed as Italian. You should look into the Disney Worold Florida Italian restaurants. There are a few on property. And spoiler, a lot don't seem that authentic. Especially the Epcot Italy pavilion.

  11. You gave me your permission to pick ANY 3 restaurants where I live chef Vincenzo… here I go.
    Toronto, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 🍾🥂💯🥖&🍷 🌬️🔥chef

  12. Really good video. Some of the comments about the 1 star reviews reminded me of an article I read before about customer perceptions, tastes, and expectations changes towards restaurants changing after covid, so some definite validity there

  13. Haven't ate at a real Italian restaurant since I left Germany years ago. There was some real Italian food there.

  14. Dai Vincenzo, su, la recensione guardando il sito e le foto non si può sentire 😅 Fai una review dei ristoranti italiani in Australia.

  15. I just tried your carbonara recipe that you proud and i like it. no milk, only egg and cheese. It's TOO way better than spagatthi product that has carbonara on its package. Too bad i can only afford to buy cheddar cheese and cannot eat any pork product. I will update my progress so i can make you proud, chef.

  16. I would love to see you go to some of these places so we can see your experience and what you think.

Maybe you could go to some Italian restaurants near you and do a review in person?

  17. Any menu can say anything – reviewing places is what people want to see from you now. Look up top restaurants in your area and do a review there for each one. 👏

  18. NY has some awesome food! 😍😍😍😍 I'm in Las Vegas, and we have our share of good Italian restaurants here too because…Fun fact: Las Vegas was built by the Mafia. We don't even try to hide or deny our history. We have the Mafia Museum here and some excellent Italian places in that area of town. The Mafia used to run the casinos and they brought their great Italian food with them. This legacy lives on and we still have great Italian food here!

  19. Zero Otto is very good. Roberto the chef and owner was raised in Southern Italy. His dad was a chef there and had something like 12 kids. Bronx Little Italy is also great for shopping.

  20. Lattanzi in midtown on theater row is our favorite. It's been there for over 50 years in their cute, cozy brownstone. The menu is Roman. 1/2 Italian (my son still talks about their homemade spaghetti), and the other 1/2 of the menu is Kosher Jewish (think Jews in Rome). The fried artichokes are sublime, and I fell in love with a bottle of Barolo there once!

  21. I have such respect and appreciation for the small restaurants who survived through the pandemic. I enjoy your menu reviews, even though I don’t dine out much😊

  22. Ok… what needs to be taken into consideration is, Vinny, is a traditional chef. Those who say or advertise, "Tradition Italian Food" need to be called out. Ive been to those places and NO traditional Italian food was served. I just got up and walked out. I love real Italian food…not a conversion of what THEY think. Anyone who serves Italian food can give their perspective on what it is, but DO NOT advertise authentic Italian food.

  23. ATTENTION VINCENZO: I thank you for all I've learned as you've helped to improve my skills immensely! Also,, please check Vito Iocapelli as he challenges himself to beat the Guinnes world record and has been making pizza for 18 hours so far. His goal is 24 hours. Pizzas are donated to charities, the homeless and schools for children. Please check, and help spread the news.

  24. Ciao Vincenzo,
It would be very interesting to hear your reviews of these restaurants in Munich:

    1) Calvello’s – Neapolitanische Pizzeria & Trattoria

    2) Trattoria Da Fausto

    3) GIGI TRATTORIA

  25. A lot of people will negative reviews trying to get free food. So if everyone is raving about it but there’s a few people complaining about everything they’re trying to scam.

  26. Had my anniversary dinner at “Olio e Piú” and adored it! Of course when you add black truffles to fresh pasta. Your tummy is happy 😂

  27. You know nothing about NYC…NYC HAS THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN THE WORLD INCLUDING ITALIAN…OF COURSE THERE'S BAD RESTAURANTS JUST LIKE YOUR CITY IN ITALY AND YOUR ADOPTED CITY IN AUSTRALIA 😢😢😢😢
