I build a table from a slab of cypress wood that was trapped underground for 1000 years and was radiocarbon dated to be 2203 years old. Check out the Line up of Bambu Lab 3d Printers here: https://bit.ly/bambujonnybuilds

I paid $6000 for a slab of ultra rare bald cypress wood that is older than the entire Roman Empire. Watch me turn that into a beautiful round live edge and epoxy dining table.

  1. That was ballsy to take that on, but it is beautiful. Congratulations for not screwing it up. Your talent has grown the few years I have watched.

  2. 13:48; I'm hoping you fixed that crack on the table base since you're selling it. But, I like the wooden base; I also feel like you could have made the "roman-esque" base out of wood as well, instead of the plastic, spray painted one, and it would have fit much better

  3. I instantly stopped watching after learning that 6K was paid for something like this. Obviously a luxury problem respectively another video creator who already is too rich.

  4. Enjoyed this! Great work! The table top is lovely. The bases are both sub-par. And the Roman column one is absolutely awful.

  5. Well not older than Jesus because he existed he came to earth but its is old
$12,000 they didn't see you coming they phoned you up.

  6. I'm a woodworker( in a loose kind of way) but watching you work is like looking into the future of woodworking when compared to what I do.

  7. GM Johnny, Great video !! I have a 3-D printer bamboo PS1. What program /cad software do you use to design your template/jigs? I totally agree with you. It is a great tool to have in the shop. I want to start designing like that. I do use handy a lot however, I would like to design my own stuff. Do you plan on doing a video on 3-D printing?
Keep the videos coming. Great content !!!
    Enjoy your Week…

  8. I love that there are woodworkers out there that don't shy away form exploring all the ways technology, materials and just creative ideas can enhance their work. The Doric column were a great addition.

  9. The metal base looks like prison bar windows you got at surplus. I love the table and prefer the wood base. The columns look a bit busy. But.. to each his own. Someone will love it.

  10. I looked like a dragon at the start. Then you made a table. Sculpture would of been better used at a table is a table art stands alone

  11. New subscriber, love your work, but I admit I cried a little when you sanded off all the edges and absolutely gorgeous hard edges.

  12. the plastic cover colones is a no no.they look to cheap for that table..if they were made out of wood.wow.would be super nice.but a hard job to fabricate..very nice table whit the wooden base

  13. sort of sad this was the result of 2200 year old piece of wood, a generic boring round table.

  14. I can’t hardly believe the top comment here. I mean I guess I am glad your channel is getting views and interaction so you get paid, but it really goes to show that many of your viewers have zero appreciation for your actual work. I can’t imagine that most people who liked it spent 213 hours on anything in their whole lives. I don’t like epoxy tables in general, but as a furniture maker I appreciate the piece.

  15. Wooden base! One comment was if they found out their $12,000 table was put together by an amateur welder and then finished off with bondo, plastic and spray paint, they'd be pissed. I have to agree. It is wood, keep it all wood! It ties it together better than the metal and plastic. And if you didn't know the history of the tree, you would be confused at why the columns. Plus it's from Louisiana, ain't no Romans there!
