  1. If you are there, see if you can eat at an agriturismo. Those are farms that offer a limited amount of food and accomodation options. Homemade food, often cooked by the grandma, affordable and so delicious! But inform yourself beforehand and book if necessary as it's usually not possible to just show up like in a restaurant. But it's worth it.

  2. I really liked anchovies before I ever went to Italy but when I was in Sorrento, I had to try them. OMG! You are so right. They are so much better there because they're fresh and not salted and canned in olive oil (usually CHEAP olive oil at that!) I had them sauteed in vinegar, which seriously made me question my choices in life, but they were AMAZING! And yes to eggplant too. I could and would eat eggplant every day when I'm in the south of Italy.
