Can’t a man just vlog and eat fish in peace in Pakistan? While eating in the Sikh holy city of Nankana Sahib, an unidentified security service agent finds me in a restaurant and reports me to the local Police station. Then a Punjab police officer sits next to me and forces me to ride back to my hotel with him.

According to that Punjab police officer, the protection of foreign tourists is their responsibility. However, I don’t think there’s any rule like that in Nankana Sahib. The only places that require you to travel with a security guard in Pakistan are, as far as I know, southern Punjab (below Multan) and Balochistan.

    Places like that shall all close down, its safer to eat in a gurudwara!

    you did not understand that everyone was looking with anger at you, and those were not Gurus people..but cast out ones! so the police officer was right, and he saw all that on their faces! They probably thought that you were trouble out there but they have exposed themselves of not being so welcome…

    the guy could of just been looking out for you (owner might of heard people talking negatively and made him worry about the foreigner in his establishment).. can't always assume the worse in people! never know the situation..

    Bro, don't be so hard on the Pakistani police. Not only are you a foreigner, but you are a white foreigner. You are a target for kidnapping and ransom, yes even when you are in what you perceive to be safe areas. I notice you did not, at least on video, engage with the policeman on a human level, that is: ask his name, address him by name, thank him for his concern about you, ask him about himself. Engage as a human with another human: ask him where he was born and grew up. Ask him what got him interested in police work. Ask him if he is married and has children yet. If he has children, what does he enjoy about them. Get personal with many human-to-human questions! Don't be defensive and "formal" with foreign police. You will open up their minds, in case they are closed-minded, by encountering a foreigner who takes interest in them as individuals. Be the change you seek!!!

    Seems like the police had a reason to fear for your safety, man. Also, did you see the brown stains all around the sink where you washed your hands? Dear lord. Playing with fire in more ways than one. Reminds me of those two Scandinavian gorls who believed in cultural relativism and got decapitated in Morocco. I'll pass.

    Eat fish where the water is the filthiest in the world. Pure nasty ! You can kill bacteria but not contamination or chemicals.
