  1. If I’m going to a live sports event like Aussie Rules I’d go 5pm then head to the game. No way I’d make 10pm mainly cos I day drink

  2. I would prefer to eat dinner at 6 but I work until 6 so this is physically possible. I hate eating dinner after 7.

  3. go eat a steak with chopsticks and no knife…… chopsticks were used in the past because they didnt know better, we use forks because we are big brains now

  4. We used to eat later, but we have a four year old, so dinner is like 5p for us. Hangry preschooler is not fun. 🙃

  5. I think you guys need a 3rd host who has children, so that you can be more relatable to average people your age.

  6. I have dinner at 530. Partially because I'm usually home by 430 and am hungry, partly becuase my fiance works nights so it's her breakfast before work

  7. I know a family who eats dinner at 4PM…. thoughts???

I normally eat my dinner at 6:45 because I get hangry if I eat any later than that.

  8. 5 and 5:30 reservations are open because when everyone gets off work between 4:30 and 5 they have to get home, change, maybe shower, and then head to the restaurant. Only the retired and night shift workers can make those times work.

  9. No breakfast, I take my lunch break at 11 usually don’t eat. I’m off at 3 PM so then there’s a small snack. Dinner at six. The weekends a free for all.

  10. I would like to do a Mexican food restaurant I guess more so Tex-Mex and call it beak of the rooster. If you know you know.

  11. Josh quit scaring people about poppyseeds the amount you would have to eat to pop positive is quite a lot are you really gonna tell me you never watched MythBusters considering the fact that you have meth muncher as a segment…..

  12. I'm the same age as both of them but listening to this podcast made me feel 1000. The part that really got me was taking the reservation at 10PM. I would be a husk of a man and irritable to all involved by the end of the meal. I also DONT have kids so that is not a factor haha.

  13. You are not supposed to go to bed on a full stomach so at least 90min before you go to bed. So, those with kids that go to bed at 7-9 that means more like 5-7 accordingly. Also lunch is suppose to be the big meal. And breakfast is supposed to be full or protein for slow release of energy.

No wonder so many people are tired if they are eating so much so late.

  14. I'm in Wisconsin I normally eat dinner at 4 when I get off work and I work from home I also don't usually eat lunch that's why it's so early

  15. I get home from work at 5. There's a Chipotle on the walk from the train station to my apartment. My cat also eats when I get home, so "dinner at 5" just makes the most sense logistically.

  16. Oh no no no, bagged shredded cheese time is "anytime, anyplace, anywhere". 😀

  17. 27:00 hmmm, yeah as I get older I no longer find Justin McElroy's choice to eat cereal before bed weird. Its not filling enough for breakfast but its PERFECT for bed time.

Dinner for me is usually 4:30 or 9 depending on when I had lunch and how hungry I am/how the rest of the house is doing.

  18. I lived in France for years and their lifestyle of eating dinner late totally converted me. Dinner time is traditionally 8-8:30. After work they don't come home and get dinner on the table. They do extracurriculars like hobbies, seeing friends, sports, etc. Then start preparing dinner around 7-7:30. I wish more people in Canada/North America got on the eating-late bandwagon but I do understand why people prefer eating earlier

  19. We used to eat dinner so late, but with young kids we eat between 5 and 530. I've found that I sleep better and feel better if I don't eat for a few hours before bed now.

  20. Chili on corn waffles makes sense because it's also common to put corn chips like fritos in chili. I'd miss the crunch, but it can get too salty.

  21. Yeah, chopstick vs fork debate my Uncle told me before that it was barbaric for Westerners to have knives at the table because it makes dinner stressful that anyone around the table could stab and basically attempt murder against anyone else at any time. Chopsticks make for more peaceful meal time. XD

The spice tip for fried rice I don't know about though because that sounds like a flavor overload. My favorite fried rice is my family's where it's just oyster sauce with the rice plus some veggies and maybe a meat like bacon or ham. It's very simple, but I kind of feel like that's the point of fried rice where you just whip something up with left overs and whatever you have in your fridge.

  22. I usually only have 2 meals a day. So I'm usually not having dinner. When I do, it's around 6pm, because my doc says I can't eat after 7pm.

  23. I'm definitely on Josh and Julia's weeknight dinner schedule. I go for a run after work, so depending on my route and distance to May not get home to shower and eat dinner until 9 on some nights. It's rough when I go home to visit my parents and they're eating at 5:30.

  24. I go to bed early and wake up early. My ideal dinner time is 5pm and the main reason is to give myself time to get hungry again for dessert – the best meal of the day!

  25. I'm a late night eater, 34 years young. i work in a restaurant, so grazing is a thing, by the time I'm out, I'm not hungry for dindin unless i have an idea for a dish.

  26. I live in Costa Rica where sun down is around 6 so most restaurants are closed by 8pm other than bars and fast food. But I’m in college and work from home so I don’t keep an exact schedule. Could be breakfast 8-10 lunch 1-4 and dinner around 7-9 xd it really depends on
