Southern Italian red wines are making more and more noise in the past decade.

La Bella Sud Biferno Rosso Riserva is a blend of two grapes most known for making full bodied and complex red wines. It is 80% Montepulciano and 20% Aglianico. The Montepulciano give a lot of the red fruit flavors, spice, and acidity to the wine, while the Aglianico gives the floral depth and full bodied structure.
This is a big wine that spends some time in oak as well. If you plan on opening it right away, you will want to give it some air, but if you want to lay it down for a couple years, there is a benefit to that as well.
This is a gem of a wine for the price!
