All around the world there are laws on what can and can’t go into food for reasons of public health and then a series of social norms that most people tend to follow. Like don’t eat soup with a fork. However, when a part of the world takes cooking and it’s food culture more seriously, regulations begin to pop up about how various dishes and ingredients can be prepared to ensure anyone new to it, or an avid fan, can comfortably know they are getting the quality they’ve come to love and expect every single time.
One nation that’s done exactly that is a little boot shaped country on the Mediterranean, called Italy. You might not of heard of it but they do theses things called “pasta” and “pizzas” that are surprisingly popular in certain parts of the world. So today join us as we explore the Italian Culinary Legal system and also learn how to make pizza and pasta ourselves!
