Ciao! I am an American who now lives in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily for 6 months of the year each year. When I first came to Sicily I paid A LOT more for an apartment than I do now. I made friends with the owners of my favorite bar and we are now like family. Once you make friends it is much easier to save on car rentals, apartments, etc. I will be returning to CdG in 3 weeks and my apartment will be upstairs from my friend's brother in law for a fraction of the price normally paid for the summer season. And they found me a private car to rent for much less as well! The Sicilian people are so warm and friendly and really do love to help people that have come to visit their beautiful island.
