  1. Lori made mashed potatoes Sunday. She normally cuts the potatoes into cubes like my mom, but not nearly as small as yours. Sunday she said she did them like her mom, and basically cut each potato into four pieces. I couldn't tell the difference. 🙂

  2. Sometimes I add back some of the potato cooking water instead of adding milk to mashed potatoes. It adds the moisture and along with butter or Butter buds for flavor, it is delicious. To use stronger onions, just saute them before adding.

  3. I've been so busy yesterday and this morning, but I finally found time to watch you and Katie make a great meal. You're both such good mothers, always prioritizing your family.   4. Tipper? Can Katie have gluten free flour from King Arthur? I have a daughter in law that can't have wheat or gluten. We use that flour for her. I even bake for her when we have get togethers.

  5. I like this time in the kitchen with Katie. You should have her do more “Cooking With Katie” segments! I also like to see a little more of “Cooking With Matt” segments too. Don’t get me wrong, I like the “Cooking with Tipper” segments too. That is what attracted me to your channel with simple Appalachian cooking back in 2022. But I also like the view point of Matt and Katie especially when they cook together. And while you are at it, throw in a little of Corry too!😊😊😊

  12. I made meatloaf tonight bc of watching your video yesterday lol. I kinda wing it similar to a handed down Betty Crocker book and how my parents taught me and it’s not always exactly the same bc I don’t measure spices and sometimes we have peppers and sometimes not lol just depends but thanks for the idea it was a perfect comfort meal in this cold weather 🤗

Today was trail cameras on a moose carcass (nothing gory), eagles and wolves, and some giant animals we don't have down here. Anyone who enjoys hunting, fishing, and food preservation will like this channel. God bless y'all.

  14. Katie, I will shred a carrot in my meatloaf. You cannot tell it is in there, but it adds veggies in your meatloaf. And I know you still have a carrot or 2 in the garden

  15. Katie is a natural like her mom in front of the camera. Great job Katie. You are very dedicated to eating so you can continue to nurse your baby boy and that is something not to many young mother’s would now days. You have our full respect for doing that to ensure your son is healthy. Both meatloafs look delicious. Y’all are eatin like kings!

  16. Have you ever tried one pot mac and cheese? It's simple and so good. Cook your mac in enough milk to cover. Don't drain it. When tender add enough cheese of your choice to thicken it up. You can just cube the cheese – no need to grate it. Add some dry mustard and 1/2 stick butter and some salt and pepper to taste. I can't give you amounts because I don't measure when I cook. Put into baking dish and top with crushed Ritz crackers mixed with a little melted butter and bake until the topping is nice and brown. It comes out creamy and delicious with less pan to wash.

  17. My Grandma made potatoes like this and she called them whipped potatoes – they never got mashed ; )

  18. I make that same Mac and cheese recipie except I use paprika with the dry mustard and garlic and a little powdered onion also, I also whip an egg into the half and half and it really sets up well.

  21. Heaven! I went to Dr on New Year’s Eve, yes, my physical.
    I’m 55 and he told me I have to get the cholesterol down about 40 points in the next few weeks or I’m fearful he will put me on meds. I feel her pain!
    We’ve got granny on the prayer chain at church and my lady’s Bible group.
    Simply “Granny”.

  23. You influencers, you! I just had to make this meal today. Although I make meatloaf way differently ( it’s all about how Mom cooked); I love my potatoes cooked like Tipper – really smooth and velvety!
