  1. I have a no claims bonus with a fiat 500x I pay 267 € here in in Portugal. Insurance companies must be rolling in it there. Hope you get better soon!

  2. €450 a month? If I economise to an extreme extent and live like a hermit, my budget is double that per month. After doing a lot of research, I realise that many prices in Ireland are hundreds of percent higher than in Italy, but the quality of life is terrible, the standard of public services is deplorable, and healthcare is in fact scary.

  3. Thank you for this video… well here in Toronto Canada car insurance for an experienced driver is minimum 2k a year… for a new driver it’s is over 5k a year… the prices all around seem so much more affordable than where we live.. So glad to hear how affordable it is in Abruzzo from someone who lives there… I hope you feel better soon!!

  4. Here in Malta me and my wife spend about €100 to €110 from a village supermarket on one week and about €80 on the week after from Lidl. The problem is that we do not find everything at Lidl that my wife likes. These do not include the bread which is delivered to our door everyday (€10 weekly)

  5. You have to stop this! As soon as I find and buy a house in Abruzzo, then you can start again. Just saying. The prices are really good. The nature is amazing. I guess you should feed your pigs 🐷some more, they are very small (and hungry). Thank you for your updates.

  6. Another great video Bella and very informative! I do agree with you about the quality of food in Italy even if it’s the same brand as can be bought in the U.K. prices are soaring in the U.K. public transport is dire and house prices and rentals are extortionate. Viva l’Italia!

  7. Hi Bella… how are you ? thanks for this useful video , very interesting… yes, life cost less than in the UK but the income are much much less than in the UK… a question Bella… Where you was living in the UK ???Dorset ? i have understand well ?… thanks for share and untill next time… a big virtual hug !!!!!!!and a cuddle to Miss Boobie…Ciao !!!!!!🤗❤❤❤👍👍👍🙏🌹🌹🌹

  8. Thanks for your cost of living overview. $450 euros per month is around AUD$750.00. That is a bargain. Not sure exactly what I spend here in Tasmania but bare necessity, non rent staples without entertainment or indulgences is estimated around AUD$1500.00 minimum. So double, but for one, not two. No mortgage, so rent starting at AUD$2.5K, less rates, insurance, water on top of that. Have been looking into Abruzzo/Molise/Piedmonte and the housing/lifestyle on offer looks very appealing. So much history, art, architecture, culture, natural beauty just wandering around your own neighbourhood. The access into other parts of Europe super appealing.

  9. Can you please do a video of catching the bus in winter to get to other areas? Or tell us about it afterwards?

  10. Aussie here. My mother was Abruzzese so I still have family there. We spent the whole of 2023 in Europe , mainly Italy. Rented an apartment from a friend of a friend in Chieti for 7 months, and travelled around. Bought our fruit n veg from little local vendors or the weekly markets and picked up homemade passata for €2 a bottle , from a bar! 😂 It helps if you know the language and become a local. With Italian heritage you’re just one of them , they let you know that!
😂 unfortunately as much as I love my rels and the lifestyle over there, I wouldn’t move from Australia. I’d love to spend 6-7 months of the year there though, avoiding our Aussie summer and theirs! 😅

  11. Thank you. I am retiring to rural northwest Umbria the end of the year. I have family roots in Abruzzo. I look forward to a better life than here in the US

  12. I was considering Italy, Portugal, and Spain to relocate to from Colorado. Spain will soon impose a 100% tax for non-residents who are looking to purchase. I guess this makes my decision a little easier. Btw, I hope you don’t fine dine every evening…lol Thank you for sharing a part of your life

  13. Thanks for this important video. Is food cheaper at farmers markets? Is beef expensive and available? Is organikc prevelant and how much more expensive?> What is the cost of car service (standard service)?

  14. Are these numbers more or less accurate (per week): electricity €20, reliable internet €8, food €60, accountant (sole trader) €5, bins €4, house insurance €8, gas €13, water €5? Last question. I promise.

    Benvenuta e benvenuti a tutti ❤

  16. Wow, car costs are high, but hopefully will be lower when you renew? What about a scooter, is insurance high for that?

  17. Manish Khanna:
My name is Manish Khanna. I am from Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan in India. I want to work at your place. Can you help me in this matter. I also take care of our house. I can do all the work for you. I am like cleaning your house too. I am like a cow and I am also milking it. I am 26 years old. I am from a poor family. If you want to call me then I am here now. I can. I will never give you a chance till the time I go here. My dream is to go to Europe. I have completed my graduation. I know a little English. I will never give you a chance. .

If you want, I can send a copy of my passport.

  18. Excellent video, but can you summarize and have a monthly expenditure total for two people? We have visited Abruzo thoroughly a couple of years ago and fell in love with the region, we stayed in Pratola-Peligna, a nice sized town in the middle of it all. Which area are you living in, if is not much to ask?

  19. Thx for the info. I'm sure many people have said you resemble Elizabeth Hurley. I'm a portrait artist with a photographic memory.

  20. Thanks for your post. I moved to Abruzzo from US a year ago. Absolutely loving it here. My experience are not quite as low as yours, but way less than it would have been in the US. Have you tried buying property here? How do you go about finding a knowledgeable agent? Most agents here seem to cover only 2 sq km around there local office. Or is that also a word of mouth thing?

  21. Assuming the car insurance is going to reduce, I think it is going to be less than the UK and a bargain. I am a full no claims driver. Car is bigger than yours but I shaopped around and my current premium is £600 a year. Food is both cheaper and of superior quality…. but then again an Italian obsession

  22. Just came across your channel and subscribed. We are an Englishman with a Polish wife and we bought our 3.5 acre homestead in Abruzzo exactly a year ago today. We spent about 6 weeks there in 2024 and plan to spend a couple of months there this year. We are planning to move there full time in three-ish years. The local village's occupants are incredibly welcoming and have helped us so much with keeping an eye on our property and mowing the olive groves etc. (we do pay them a very reasonable amount for this, but only because we insisted). We find everything there is so much cheaper than in the UK from travel, to food, going out and utilities. We cannot wait to be there full time.

  23. I've just come across your channel. I'm a Brit living in the Lombardia region. Just to point out, dentistry is really expensive in this area and I don't know how much people from the UK would save by coming here. I've had a lot of treatment over the years and I can guarantee it's cost an arm and a leg, as the saying goes….!!!! Comparing my prices to family in the UK it seems to be less expensive there…..!!! 😊

  24. I have been weighing moving to Italy for about 5 years. I concur with all that you broadcast. You information is good but repetitive for me but I will watch you every opportunity I get. Why?? You may be the most attractive female I have seen on YouTube

  25. All of these prices are much lower than they are in the U.S., especially the dental filling.

  26. I just went home from anguillarra (north of Rome) by car and we stopped at many cities (Rome, Florence, Piza, Turino ….) and villages. Glboally Italy was awful if I compare to France : road in very bad state, buying petrol is all bu easy (you need specific card), food for 20 euros (lunch and per peson) is not refined but junk, you can pay 6 euros for a wafle if you speak english while italian get it for 1 euro (i would say globally italian are not that welcoming I was exepcting so much about it) …. you just see that the public services lack a lot of money. Just an anecdote : we had a 8 month old child during this road trip of 2 months : it was a nightmare to find a place suitable for changing the baby (in France you just stop in any "aire the repos" and you find what you want. I was complaining a lot about France, I do not now.
It s esay to undertand, you just need to have a look at the macro economic indicator : all are saying Italy i moving to the wrong direction. Now if I take into account the climate change and the hot summer that italians will have, more and more villages will become ghosted villages.

  27. Great video, Bella👏🏼It's really eye opening to compare costs in the States vs. Italy, and proves why so many are searching for affordable options. Our electric bill in summer can be $500😓 Hope you're feeling 100% now! Thank you for sharing such valuable information!! ❤

  28. It's like, when to stop researching and start doing it. I've made trips to Italy, stayed for extended periods and I'm still trying to get my wife to move. She's a lot younger and has no interest in moving to Italy. I am retired and have no other objective other than get there! So, we've been talking about her commuting back and forth and me staying in Italy with the kiddos. Your information is very helpful and I am finding more and more resources for my purposes. Thanks for the video, the help you offer and for the practical approach you have put into your videos.

  29. Is the Tessera Sanitaria thought to be inadequate for health care on its own (when not supplemented by private health care)?

  30. Im retired and keep looking at houses for sale in Italy. I have a dog that makes it harder for the move. I'm in the U.S., so I've started looking at Mexico. You can take your pet across the border with proper health and vaccine papers. America is just not the same anymore.

  31. I'd love to buy a place in Abruzzo, probably splitting my time roughly 50/50 between the UK and Italy. The main "issue" I've found is that it's not easy (well, not possible?) to buy a car as a non-italian resident. It's not practical for me to drive to Italy every time I visit (which might only be for a few weeks), so yeah, I'm really not sure ways around that. Hiring a car seems very expensive, as does leasing.
