The exhibition will explore Alberta’s formative years in America, her upbringing in Chicago and New York, and the significance of her inheritance. 1. I would totally pay to watch a documentary of these two Ladies documenting fabric history, manufacturing, and preservation. Such a delight to watch two enthusiasts "geeking" out over something they love.

  2. Viscountess your inquisition to how things where made and done centuries ago are totally amazing, the scope of your episodes are incredible amazing and we thank you so much for sharing the wealth of knowledge, experience and wisdom that is apparent with these most historic places. The people, the places and the geographical locations are amazing, to think that so many of this historical places were bulldozed! Thank you once again for another thought provoking episode! Take care and God Bless 🙏😇🏰

  3. How marvelous to see the old looms at work … such beautiful fabrics! Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience.

  4. That would have to be the best episode ever. The tower was wonderful. The history extraordinary and the silks, incredible. Thank you so much. It was packed full of entertainment.

  5. LOVE the weaving. Hope they have apprenctices trained to carry on the archive and the weaving. The mechanical looms are genius beyond my comprehension, more fascinating to think how they were conceived than modern computers! My favorite fabric was the green damask.
Also thrilled to find my 18th great grandmother Lady Margaret De Vere was born at Hedingham, daughter of John De Vere 7th Earl of Oxford. 💐

  6. The paintings this family has are just plain beautiful. Were they to come on the market, they could fetch at least a hundred million plus.

  7. There should be One Big single vacant Room with a single Relaxing Chair 💺 ( no other furniture in the Room ) with single Speaker in the Wall playing Haldigon music 🎶🎶

  8. Julie, I had an idea for your house visits. I’m rewatching Downton Abbey. It would be really interesting to do a tour of the homes where they filmed. I know you’ve done Highclere, but the rest would make for great content.

  9. 29:39 it seems like Julie's hair got caught in a spider web and it is so distracting. I can see the reflected sunlight going up and down the web connected to Julie's bun

  10. I just loved your joy at the thought of new covers for your old furniture. As usual an excellent episode.
I will never visit any of these places but even if I did it wouldn’t be as full of details etc.

  11. Another fabulous vlog, thank you Julie. I really, really liked visiting Gainsborough and seeing the archives and the loom in action.

  12. What an amazing episode! So much history the loom machine was fascinating 100 years old yet runs like new! Thank you Julie for presenting this piece to us! I hope what you have will help you to restore that lovely lying couch!

  13. I really loved this episode…so many interesting things. The info about their ancestor possibly being Shakespeare, the amazing well, the ancient foundations and the weaving! I really hope Diane and Colin are training the next generation to continue these skills. And I hope to see a future episode about fabric being made for Mapperton!

  14. DeVere was also in Italy and watched the plays that older and he wrote Romeo and Juliet from that. In Elsinore castle he heard that tale of Hamlet and just changed the heros name .So yes DeVere was Shakespeare

  15. 셰잌스피어 프랑스귀족왕족 인데요 머리숱 많았고 잘생겼고교양이 높은 인덕이깊은 상급자인데요

  16. So intrigued with this episode. I think the one who was hunched back was what we call Scoliosis and it is somethign that is passed down in families. This was so exciting. My husband is related to the Royals but it comes down from his mother's side of family. It is a long story, but certainly they were related a few times with intermarriages with various countries as well. The Plantangenet/Tudor families and through King Henry the 2nd and 3rd and down, But over time the family did move to the United States and so here we are living nicely, but not rich in anyway, or well known! We are fine though, lol

But just love seeing these wonderful videos and feel very much part of it all because of our marriage of over 54 yrs now and with two grown sons . But knowing what the genealogy is in family, makes me realize again, just how small this world truly is!

Love the wallpaper and have seen silk used on walls but this is really done in a different way I feel? This truly makes it all so perfect and unforgivable. ,making your house a home! Love the whole idea of the Medieval Castle built next to the Mansion, Thank you Julie, Jason, and Demetrias! Very exciting to follow!

  17. The tidbit about Shakespeare's possible true identity was so interesting it raised the hair on the back of my neck.

  18. Oh I love this spin off channel ❤ full of information . So many channels are brand advertising heavy. But I love both channels you have .

  19. Wow!! The weaving machines are amazing! I'm a retired Computer Person and a hand-weaver. I couldn't imagine weaving something like this by hand, but I'm sure the Medieval folks did it that way (maybe not the fancy stuff that's done here). Thanks so much for sharing this!!

  20. What amazing castle & keep. Jason & Demetra are so knowledgeable of their past & hands on custodians of their home.
Julie, I’m sure you have gotten so many ideas for preservation & archiving .
Wallpaper & fabric can both be reproduced or your own design can be brought to life. I enjoyed the 2 videos on this historic house – what a delight.

  21. Worth watching the whole thing for Julie’s thrilled reaction about recreating the fabrics!❤
