Rim cafe Rene is the best
This walk Captain is awesome. We use to go to the Italian Market a lot. My tongue is hanging out. In Myrtle Beach now we are getting some good Italian business's here. Philly has the best food. Something for everyone.
Cheap meat meant Horse meat. My dad knew the owner back in the 1970s . And the Italian market is not the Italian market any more . The south Americans own it and one should be aware of them selves when walking around there .
No italian market anymore!!
Shout out to Jerry Blavit, the geeter with the heater. You should his pic at Pats.
Well when I grew up there was a Pat king of steaks on 33 near Dauphin
With the crown 👑 on top the building
last year the Italian Market Festivals were jam packed and festive again
Thanks for the Tour Captain … i ❤ Philly … but im From North Jersey 😎
The Italian market has become the Mexican market
my band played at connie ric rack back in 2016 had a good time and good crowd
Good to hear someone else familiar with the Geator with the Heater Jerry Blavat! 😊
Unsanctioned food stands 🧍♀️ 😋? No way I'm eating there. To me and others, food sources are atop of the list. Beware all food poisoning can be fatal for some. Grab food yourself at the market, go home 🏡 and cook 🍳
"We might get an Angelo's Cheesesteak." Pure heresey.
Phil Rosenthal getting a special at that restaurant Angelo
Pretty sure my whole live a cheesesteak cost about the same as a hour of minimum wage pre taxed pay.
You didn't shout out the Mexican restaurant next to Genos or J&J pizza who has better cheese steaks than Pat's and Geno's
Don’t think the cheesesteaks are worth it..price has really jumped…love the Italian market! Philly has some great food!
Great video. Please don’t be sad during these dark days. Love your videos!
$#PhillypeacePark loves ❤
It used to be the best place to buy meats and eat. However, it went down hill.

Love your videos i was born and raised in philly. Had to move to Puerto Rico to take care ofy mom. But i miss My Home town
Ever make your way over to Gooey Looies when you're down that way?
Prices everywhere have gone up over the past 4 plus years. In the 90's it was all around $6 for a good hoagie or cheese steaks. I call them the good all days. I blame new construction which raises taxes for the neighboring homes, city spending and need to collect more taxes, inflation and lastly people from New York moving into Philly who are willing to pay New York prices for stuff.
Next time you go to the Montgomery Mall. Drive down 202 south about 5 miles and try Pudges in Blue Bell. Best Hoagie and Steak in the north west suburbs.
Excellent tour. My grandfather was THE Fresh Fish Man on Washington Ave. until 1979.
My uncle was a Loan Shark "who worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer". True Sicilians.
My grandmother used to take me shopping with her on 9th & Washington. I use to love picking out socks for 10 cent a pair. I still buy the roast pork sandwiches from George’s.
South Philly going upside down they ruined everything there ghetto
You walked a little bit west on Ernst st. My grandmother, grandfather and an aunt and 2 uncles where at 917 Ernst st on the 1930 census. (they were not Italian) My mom always took me to the Italian market to eat and shop starting in the 1960s. There were no closed businesses. It used to be packed.
Unless you grew up in the 60’s and 70’s like me you will never know what the Italian market truly is. This is nothing like it was. All the shops are gone only a few originals are left. There was a butcher and chicken shop on every corner and a few in the middle of the block, all fruit and vegetable stands lined blocks of the market. So sad to see it like this
The live chicken killed and eaten fresh will make you be able to clearly taste the bleach in the store-brought chicken, and that's a fact.
Locals don't go to either Pat's or Geno's
One word…….HOME ✌️💖
