It began when Italy’s dairy industry was undergoing a crisis. Younger Italians were moving to the big cities and refusing to do farm work anymore. At the same time, Punjabis from India and Pakistan were looking abroad for potential job opportunities. In the 1980s, these worlds collided and the first wave of Punjabi migration into Italy started with Punjabis working in the country’s dairy farming industry.
Today Italy is home to an estimated 220,000 Punjabis and towns like Novellara have big Punjabi populations. But a new generation of Punjabis in Italy is no longer tethered to its dairy farming roots. Speaking fluent Italian and identifying as Italian, they are now spreading their wings.

My cousins live in brescia and near lake del garda. I attended many nagar kirtan starting from brescia main gurudwara. Italy is very beautiful country. My cousin brother have his own dairy farm.

A great video on how these Sikhs from Punjabi, living in Italy, had the initiative to integrate their experience and knowledge from making their own cheese paneer and to produce an Italian Brand, while becoming wholly integrated in the community and expanding their confection of Punjabi sweets ( delicious and sweet).
