Guys, once you had really interesting videos, like about the cost of living in Vienna, transportation there, real-estate in Vienna, where to live and how to live in Vienna, cost of having a child in Austria…and now it looks like most of your videos is about food…from your last 20 videos 9 is about the food! Really? There is now interesting topics about living in Vienna?
Challenge accepted!😂 Having lived in Wien for a year, it's amazing how many food options are available
Thanks for your videos! What are the best places to eat dumplings? I heard it’s one of the comfort foods in Vienna.
Great video! You hit almost all of my favorites. I'd add Topfenstrudel and Kurbiscremesuppe.
Even as a local, it's always so interesting & fun to watch your videos! (especially when I never heard of a place before haha)
Some other spots I can recommend for Apfelstrudel or Kaiserschmarrn (ooor in general as well):
– Café Diglas
– Café Engländer
– Café Schopenhauer
– Vollpension (for Buchteln!!)
A 'hidden gem' for Austrian cuisine:
"Fuchs-Steinklammer Heuriger & Weinbau" 🌞🍺🍽
Visiting Vienna, Budapest, and Prague towards the end of this month. Your videos have really helped with expectations and planning. As a pescatarian, thank you for varied food content.
Love all your vdos and food vdos are droolworthy 😋
Please make a vdo for those who don't eat beef and pork. Preferably chicken or seafood one's which are worth trying in vienna. I would really appreciate it if you could make a vdo on that. we are traveling to vienna in September and have been watching all your vdos and liking them.
Do these places have vegetarian / vegan option? It would be helpful if you could just comment on that or make another video.
Nice video with very popular choices for all your chosen categories. None of them would make it in the top five of our local foodie circles though, so please keep exploring.
Don't come to Vienna please if you are a tourist. It's horrible. Go somewhere else.
I'm a local and it's a good list. My favorite sweet dish is Mohnnudeln, could add them to the list as well
Good video but you only tried the most touristic places for everything
Hi. I went to Kurz Pause and Sentepe Bistro Café during my two days in Vienna. I would recommend them both. Hope you try them!
Safran
New subscriber from Canada. Love you two! Can you indicate the place you ate the schnitzel at ? The one with the garlic option?
You sprinkle lemon on the schnitzel, and salt on top of that.
Kaesekrainer is the best. Then comes Bosna, two little spicy brats in a long roll with special bbq sauce and curry powder. Originates from a wurstelstand in Salzburg.
Kebab is called gyros in USA.
You don't really want to go to Vienna to eat pizza! There is so much else to eat.
And you dont want to eat kaiserschmarren at Demel who has the best Sachertorte!
tafelspitz?
Ferhat Nr.1
Saying Gulasch is Austrian is kinda like saying Döner is German. Actually wrong but it has become its own thing in a different place.
Also, if you wanna try Ferhat but don't want to wait in line, you should check out Cio's. It's right around the corner and offers the most similar experience (Yaprak-style kebab in the same kind of bread).
Another few additions:
Veal is the original for Schnitzel but would usually be reserved for occasions, I'd say turkey and pork are much more common in the average diet of an Austrian in general and you can probably get a good one in any old and kinda run down looking restaurant that doesn't have English menus right in front of the store.
The same should be said about Käsekrainer and Würstelstände. The ones right inside and around the 1st district will be the most expensive Würschtler but not necessarily the best ones. There are a lot of good ones in the neighbouring districts, hard to miss. Just know, if you are paying more than 6€ for a Käsekrainer you are probably getting ripped off. My personal recommendation would be Hermann's but they serve Bosna, not Käsekrainer.
Biggest pro tip at the end: However great the 1st district might look, as soon as you get hungry, I would advise you to leave it for a meal and come back for more sightseeing after your hard earned meal. The 1st is packed with restaurants reserved for super rich people and or tourists. The price markup you are paying is literally just for the location in the 1st. (Don't get too surprised tho if the people in the outer districts look at you grantig when you order a Schnitzel with an American accent, they will think who is showing the tourists the good stuff)
How about Eissalon Tichy?
Hi
Me & wife are traveling to vienna from 2nd to 5th oct. I have few queries if you can answer!
1 suggest some good and budget friendly local cuisine (halal) serving food.
2 .On 3rd We have 7am train to budapest and arriving back at 11:30 pm (flix bus) considering the fact which area we should book the hotel?
3. Again on 5th we have 6am train to Prague
My favorite döner is available at Berliner Döner (Zieglergasse 33A, 1070 Wien).
It comes with their own sauce and freshly baked pita.
They are open every day until midnight (even on Sundays!), and on Fridays and Saturdays until 1 AM.
Besides the Apfelstrudel, let’s not forget about the Topfenstrudel (curd strudel) either!
The best one I’ve had was in the city center at Gutenberg Café (Lugeck 7, 1010 Wien).
It is served warm, with hot vanilla sauce 🤤Yummm!🤗
Oh, yes! I almost forgot to mention the Käseleberkäse Semmel, which you can order at the deli counter in every Spar and Billa supermarket.
"… widely awailable" – oh dear. German speakers really have a problem with V and W. A V is a VEE (in German WEE) and a W is a double U. Pleeeease!
Brilliant video
Die zitrone legt man auf das schnitzel und drückt einmal kurz mit der gabel drauf.
Hi Khyati and Puriya, I forgot which video it is, but you mentioned the referral code for The Fork. Could you please share it again here? Thank you 🙏
Try "Altwiener Backfleisch" i like it more than the original schnitzel 🙂
Den Tafelspitz und die Stelze im Schweizerhaus eventuell noch. Ein paar preiswertere Geheimtipps waeren nett und nicht nur die Touristenfallen.
you must try beuschelI love it
Kepab und Wien ? Wahrlich eine kulinarische Bereicherung !
Very helpful video and amazing choices thanks ❤
Ich würde niemals zu einem Würstlstand gehen, der "Vegane Wurst" anbietet!
Very helpful video.Thank you for your tips.I've just subcsribed I intend to visit Vienna end of January Can you tell me where can I have a meal with deer meat in Vienna. Thanks
Aussie here. When I visit Vienna, I look forward to the Schweizerhaus Stelze (Prater) and Serbischer Karpfen at Gasthaus Binder in Orth an der Donau. However my favourite restaurant is the Oberlaa next to Kurpark Oberlaa.
