  2. Your videos are so interesting & inspiring! We do an Irish take on this recipe, by using potatoes rather than pasta – both ways are delicious!

  3. Lisa. You used my favorite pasta shape. My memory was jolted at a special time in my life. Coming home from school and my mom making pasta shells with sauce. ❤❤❤.

  5. ❤HI Lisa
I grew up eating this soup in the early days i did not like it. AS I got older I started to like it a bit better once I in my twenties MY mom use to make it every other week mostly over the summer when she was really busy with the large garden my dad would grow I have not eaten it in years but, after seeing this recipe I think 🤔 I should give it a try again . I have never made it for my family yet may be this weekend you made it sound so good 😊 thank you 🙏 for your videos I am really enjoying them.🤗.

  6. I don't even like peas all that much, but this simple dish looks like a hug in a bowl, and I will make this! Thank you. ❤

  7. Thank you for sharing this recipe. With life often presenting with challenges and busy schedules this recipe shows that joy and comfort can be found in simplicity.❤
    Making this for lunch today!

  8. I was taught to make this soup for meatless Fridays. We would add a small can of tomato paste end water instead of meat broth. It brings back a lot of memories.

  9. This is a great recipe. Thanks! I make that all the time with canned peas and homemade orecchiette. Sometimes I add tomatoes, potatoes, or greens from the garden. Instead of canned broth, I fake it with water and onion powder, garlic powder, mushroom powder, nutritional yeast, turmeric, dried parsley, salt, and pepper–my own healthy bouillon powder. Orecchiette e Piselli is so economical but not boring. Frugal and boring aren't synonymous. Our peasant ancestors ate heartily if frugally.

  10. So many wonderful dishes came out of hard times in Italy (and elsewhere in Europe), especially for Canada and the US after Italian immigrants arrived. Those nonnas knew what they were about! They were not content to just fill up the family. Their mission was to make every meal as amazing as possible. We owe them this lovely soup from today's broadcast, but also ravioli, lasagna, baked ziti, and perhaps even pizza and many, many other dishes that we all love now. Similar nonnas in Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Russia, and everywhere else invented similar food that their children and grandchildren came to love and crave, even when they could afford more expensive food. Thank you for drawing attention to this concept!
