About us 👫:

We’re Sam and Chris, a wife-and-husband duo who traded our RV life in the U.S. for a new adventure as American expats in Italy. 🌍 🇮🇹

In 2018, we launched our blog, Boozing Abroad, to help travelers find the best local bars, breweries, wineries, and distilleries while exploring new places.

In 2023, we documented our cross-country road trip from Phoenix to Alaska (and back to Virginia!) on this channel.

But in 2024, we started a new chapter as expats living in Italy, diving into Italian culture, everyday life abroad, and the joys (and challenges) of moving to Italy as Americans.

Join us as we explore Italy, uncover hidden gems, and share tips for living abroad, and more. Whether you’re curious about expat life in Italy or looking for travel inspiration, we’re here to share our world with you!

  1. Very nice 👍
I want to suggest you "fratta minore" wine priducer ti taste good wine in Castel S.Pietro, just some kilometers from Bologna. I appreciate their albana white wine, they have also a good rosé that my wife loves.
If you love prosecco a tour in veneto region is paramount. Cartizze of Valdobbiadene in particular, "le colture" agriturismo is a place where I bought it for Christmas (they ship 😊)
Save the date: 6-9 April Vinitaly – Verona, the big annual wine event

  2. We were in Montepulciano in Sept, and did a wine tour and tasting with a meal and 4 different wines….the view was unbelievable, along with the experience. Driving was scary. Cortona is also worth a visit….. and also worth a visit.

  3. Love the video and suggestions. We are heading to Tuscany from Rome tomorrow. Stopping in Saturnia for the hot springs then onto Florence. Montepulciano is on our list too. Looking forward to part 2.

  5. I was born In Tuscany I moved away 20 years ago now i live NorthWest WA State .Here beautiful to but Tuscany much Better.

  6. Sounds like an awesome adventure. Not sure I would be able to drive after all those tastings. I did the Northern California wine tasting and I got drunk. I was young and dumb back then, so I definitely over did it. But, we hit about 5 wineries in 1 day. Probably, should not have did that many in 1 day. 🤣
