In this video, I’m going over my credit card strategy for 2025! I’ll be talking about my 2024 credit card recap, how I redeem credit card points for travel, and how I plan to get more value from my twoplayer credit card strategy in 2025.

My credit card plan for 2025 is going to involve 5 key things that I’ll discuss in this video. I’ll also cover how me and Jackie redeemed points and miles last year for travel and some upcoming trips we have planned.

  1. I currently use a Discover and a USAA Amex but I’d like to get into the Chase ecosystem soon. Once I do is it bad to cancel those other two cards?

  2. Hey Daniel, I also use the Hyatt Business Card to help reach Globalist status.

I used to pay all of my quarterly taxes with it (Q1 – Q4), but after including my own actual nights at Hyatt I used to get to around 80 nights after including the spend. Nowadays what I do is I prepay my taxes in Q1 and Q2 with newly opened business cards to get the sign up bonuses, and then by Q3 I'll know how many nights I'll stay in Hyatt for the rest of the year so that way I know how much to put on my Hyatt Business Card for Q3 and Q4 tax payments to reach 60 nights. I think going over 60 nights but not reaching 100 or 150 for the free night certificate is a waste in my opinion so now I target exactly 60 nights.

Thanks for the video as always!

  3. 11:46 I started following your channel this past March and that is something I’ve wondered for awhile. How is your credit score since you’re frequently signing up for new credit cards and getting rid of cards you no longer want? My credit score has sat around 750-770 for the past several years, but my husband and I don’t apply for new credit cards frequently and don’t make major purchases outside of purchasing our house and one new car, both in the past 5 years. Do you find you have a harder time being approved for larger purchases (i.e. house) since you do apply for new credit cards frequently? Also, totally love that you’re going to change titles to “what’s in OUR wallet!” You are doing a really awesome job explaining how you and your wife are a team and that it’s not just all about you. Love that!

  4. 15:55 That Capital One Duo of the VentureX and SavorOne has been amazing. My husband and I got the VentureX in August 2023 and SavorOne in May 2024 and have redeemed miles for a British Airways flight to France already. (4.75 cents/mile!!!) Even with redeeming some miles, we still have 165,000 miles in rewards right now in our Capital One account, which is crazy because we only got the first of these cards 16 months ago. The rewards really add up! I’m hoping the Bilt card does start including mortgage payments because we will sign up for that in the future if/when it does.

  5. Getting the Southwest Companion Pass has been a total game changer for my husband and me! Who knew diving into the points game while planning our July 2024 wedding would open up so many opportunities for us to travel and explore together? ✈️✨

  6. I know that some people say that the freedom unlimited it a bit weaker of a catch all card because it only earns 1.5x back. But I opened it with the double deal (3x on everything) and my husband opened it on the normal SUB. So now we use my card (with him as a AU) for our everyday spending so everything is minimum 3x except rent.

  7. Thank you for informative videos! I was able to book a trips to Chicago and Mexico City using your advice on transferring Chase points to World of Hyatt. Happy Holidays to you and Jackie!

  8. Hm I was going to apply to CSR to start building my Chase Trifecta, but we'll be applying for mortgage in February and I already have 2 lender hard inquiries on my report, so it's probably a good idea to wait as well.

  9. Great video! I am trying to used my Amex credits before the end of the year. Can the Amex platinum $200 airline credit be used to get JetBlue flight credit or JetBlue flights?

  10. Check out the United Infinite Club card for the tax bill payment SUB, currently running a 90k points bonus which is much higher than usual!

  11. Jackiiiieeeee😀! Does she help you with your videos? They are great. Or do you create these all on your own with no help.?

  12. Yes sir once the kids arrive, all that traveling with slow down for sure!!! You are doing it right by travel now.

  13. When you canceled the Amex Gold card, does that have a strong negative affect on your credit score? I am a little confused with how you can confidently cancel and sign up with another card so fast. Thanks!

  14. Thanks for sharing this Dan. 2025 should be interesting. I hope you had a nice holiday season

  15. I really appreciated hearing about the times when you had to pay cash/combine with points! Way more realistic to the average viewer and helpful to see how you shaped your travel plans accordingly.

  16. Could you make a step by step video on how to set up a two player setup and connect your household with Chase? My fiancé and I are wanting to start our two player setup for our ‘2025 strategy’ as we plan our wedding/honeymoon! I have the CFU and CSP, and she is going to apply for her Chase cards here in the future. Thanks Daniel!

  17. Been watching your vids for a while, but first comment/question. Looking at pushing for globalist status in 2025 and have about 20 actual stay nights planned, have the personal card and plan to get business card in early February. Will spend first $15,000 on personal card for Cat 1-4 cert and then move to business. Just curious how many actual nights a year do you normally stay in Hyatt hotels versus spend for globalist?

Thanks for the helpful, informative, and engaging content.

  18. This channel is actually so helpful! I’m 21 Currently running the capital one Savor/Venture x duo surprisingly got approved lol

  19. I would be very interested in a detailed video breakdown for your player 2 approach, including exactly what cards and offers she’ll be applying to, in what order, and how far spaced out.

  20. Out of pure curiosity, what percentage of your travel do you actually pay for (vs. book with points) that the business platinum is actually worth it? (Besides for the other perks from BP, obviously)

  21. AMEX has excellent customer service, but I no longer see the value in the gold card, so I cancelled it. The retention offer was a joke. No regrets.

  22. PLEASE make a video on how you’re using points and what cards you used to go to Cape Town!!!! Love your content and have had South Africa on my radar now for a while! Would so appreciate seeing how you are doing it ! Thank you!!!!!

  23. Late to watch. Loved the video. Capetown has been on my list! Would love to hear about that trip!

  24. Hey man what if I am an international student going to work in the US for 6 months under a J1 visa? What kind of card would you recommend?

  25. Very good overview, appreciate the details! I'm trying to better understand why refer your partner for a card vs be an "authorized user"….is it to gain the sign on bonus? Thanks!
