  1. I've added the Supersonico to my wish list now.

    Some of my top wines of the year include –
    * several Georgian and Moldovan wines
    * Alvear Solera 1927 Pedro Ximenez
    * 2021 Il Guercio from Tuscany
    * 2016 Pursued by Bear (Washington State Cab)
    * 1997 Taylor's Vintage Port
    * a few Greek Assyrtikos
    * 2019 Avignonesi VNdM

  2. Im sorry, the top 100 spectator wines are heavily weighted by the campaign and palms greased done by the wineries

  3. Great to see Bodega Frontonio on your list 🍷, we met Fernando at a tasting at our local wine supplier and were mesmerised by his passion; we're hoping to visit his Bodega next autumn.

  4. I much prefer hearing the top 10s of experts such as Agnese over Wine Spectator. I don't know why I, but I don't 100% trust the top 10 lists of these publications. There must be so many vested interests involved. Plus, almost their entire top 10 this year was VERY expensive.

  5. You surprised me 😊, I would’ve bet a lot of money that there would have been at least one Nebbiolo on your list 😅.

  6. My 2024 highlights and what I will drink more in 2025:
    Saint Joseph
    Langhe Nebbiolo
    Value red burgundy (like Fixin)
    Jura Chardonnay
    Pinot Blanc from Alsace
    White Rioja

  7. Seeing Carles Andreu in the list makes me really proud from where I live. I always have said that this brand is one of the best quality-price wise in Cava and sparkling in general

  8. That was great, Agnes. I especially liked you picking the Frontonio. Great stuff, real terroir wine.

  9. Most interesting list. Unfortunately not many were available here but no 1 is so I will def go for it. What dish do You think would go best with that wine? I have tried Five Generations Chenin Blanc from SA and it was stunning. We hade some foire gras and bread with it. Very very good combo. Have a feeling that FMC could be even better. Cant wait.

  10. Great video Agnese, much more interesting than WS's. Seeing mainly white and sparkling wines was a nice touch, I think that's what people these days want and where the market is headed.

    I moved to Hungary last November, so my list is all Hungarian. While dry Furmints are continually improving, now high quality Rieslings are becoming a niche product and are quite unique.

    Top flight Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and blends based on them from Villany and Szekszard have really improved. 2016 & 2017 drinking particularly well atm.

    2021 Aszu is supposed to be one of the best yet, I will find out soon.

    FYI, from my 2024 YouTube Recap it informed me that I have spend more time watching your channel than any other. 😂 Thanks for sharing this video with us and looking forward to the next one. Cheers!

  11. Although you’re not staffed like Wine Spectator, your viewers trust your opinion more. That’s because you’re a real person we can get to know over this platform and are not a faceless entity. So, I think your ratings are better for me.

  12. Frau Agnesse, Ihr Sommelier-Wissen überrascht mich von Tag zu Tag mehr. Ich gratuliere Ihnen und mache weiter. Gott segne sie und möge ihr Schutzengel immer bei ihr sein. Gruß Gott!

    My wine Higlight from 2024 is a Chablis and a LießeFrauMilch! Kuss, kuss!

  13. A fine listing! Delighted to see the FMC atop the list! It's a wine which – despite its cult following in some quarters – remains undersung. I also totally suggest seeking out and trying the FMC's 'baby brother' – the KF Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc. For about 35-40% of the cost of the FMC (~£17 UK vs ~£45 UK), it does almost what the FMC does, and ages beautifully. It lacks the honey viscosity of the botrytis hit in the FMC, but it's incredible value. And no swearing is required in telling its story… 🙂

  14. Agreed, a much more interesting top ten than WS. More varietals, styles, and affordability! Your enthusiasm and energy for these wines is infectious. Not sure of availability of these here in New England USA. Still it inspires different varietals, regions, and producers to seek out. Part of the fun of drinking wine. Thanks so much for these videos. I think an affordable Bordeaux episode is a great idea. I see articles about Master of Wine, Agnese Gintere, about the internet and a Facebook forAgnese Meiersone in Latvia. One and the same?

  15. Hi Agnese. I absolutely love your enthusiasm for these wines! It’s infectious, feel I need to rush to the local wine merchants my self to buy some of them, if I could afford them!! I will however be drinking some of my own favorites over the festive season. Have a wonderful Christmas and I m looking forward to more videos in the new year.

  16. Well what can I say? Spot on with your private Top 10 list of 2024! I would by all of the wines you've highlighted in your list. And I'm happy that you've mixed list well in between whites, sparkling and reds. I only was wondering a bit that your favorite grape varity is not in the list 😉 where was the Barolo or Barbaresco from the legendary Nebbiolo grape varity? Actually I have to say that in my opinion for example I prefer your Top 10 of 2024 much more than for example the wine spectators list. As well I miss almost always a good mixture and a difference in various grape varities. Of course red wine isn't only made of Cabernet Sauvignon.

  17. So much better choice to do your own list! Super interesting wines and a chenin blanc in the top spot – I love it!

  18. What an exciting list! I will definitely be on the lookout for some of these!
    My favorite wines I tried this year were ARPEPE Rosso di Valtellina, Murgo Nero Brut, Zeni Vignealte Bardolino Classico Chiaretto, Alion Ribera del Duero, El Zarzal Godello, and Turley White Zinfandel, (not the normal sweet cheap zin but a quality rosé by a good producer)! I also got two incredible dessert wine experiences, getting to try a bottle of Klein Constantia Vin de Constance with friends, and a spoonful of Essencia at a Royal Tokaji tasting! And two awesome Natural wines, Meinklang Burgenland White, and Brij Albariño. It was a great year for wine!

  19. This is what we all wanted and we got it!!! Thank you Agnese. Very interesting choices which makes it all the more exciting (more stuff to seek out and try). And as always the shirt is off the charts!!! Love it. Great video as always.

  20. I love your channel and watch all your videos. They are wonderful. Unfortunately, of your top list none (except maybe Tignanello) are available within a thousand miles of where I live. One thing about Wind Spectator lists, they have many commonly available wines. But whatever, we all can't live in Cosmopolitan cities… Thank you for all your great videos… I enjoy them all.

  21. Hey

    I was able to find some of these wines online here in Japan, but the vintages are different. Should I still buy them!?

  22. Great video and presentation. Good pace. Good energy. Perfect amount of time spent on each wine. Well done.

  23. Agnes, thank you for the release, it was interesting to find out your top list of 2024. A fairly wide list of countries is presented. Garnacha was especially amazing, as it is usually very berry, sweet and unstructured for me. And a pleasant surprise was in the first place Chenin Blanc. This is an amazing variety. It would be interesting to see your comparison of this variety from the Loire Valley and South Africa in the future.

  24. My top 10 wines of 2024, a varied list, but I have enjoyed the fun of trying new and different wines. 1) Straka Furmint 2) Gusborne Blanc de blanc 3) Bender Pinot Noir 4) Royal Oporto Colheita 2008 5) Solevari reserve Pinot Noir 6) Cremant de Jura brut 7) Este vinho verde 8) Roxanne the Razor Delinquent wine co. 9) Brachetto d'Aqui Braida Giacoma Bologna 10) Flic Branco
