Who made it to the bread debacle?! 🥖😂
I feel like a stalker! Hi! 😂😂😂
No, it's not negative to dip your bread into the sauce. There's even a name for it – scarpetta.
First again 😂
You should go to Latvia it's so pretty
I noted down that pasta restaurant.
As far as I can remember, you get charged 'coperto' in most Italian restaurants. Like a cover charge for cutlery, glassware, napkins, table cloths etc, and the bread is usually included in this. Not all of the restaurants have this, but many do and it's not an optional charge. Some even bill you for tap water!
Went to Milan Florence train saison eat there amazing food there great place for real Italian food snacks and desserts and did train from Venice to Florence and Milan and pisa it was great it’s beautiful country and my Favorite . Visit Rome with plane and walk around great country ❤🎉
Normally here in the Netherlands they only bring it out without asking if it's free.
So yes, it's a scam in my eyes.
Also, Huuge respect of the ability to do Vlogmas. Not easy for people who aren’t traveling!
Yep! Dip that bread into the sauce 😅
Thanks Josie— we visited Bologna, San Marino and Venice in 2019. Loved it! 😊
Love Italy and sicilli
Hello to the both of you. My grandpa use to say that to, the food goes down the same way in the same place that's why I mix my food together.lol
I can feel your happiness when you eat that pasta. This is what traveling is all about, you need to enjoy every moment, not just to be at new places.
you are arguing like a married couple.lol
Josie come to California now that you are a wine enthusiast ❤❤🍷🍷
❤
The coperto charge is something only found in Italy, but it’s not a scam. Search for “Kacie rose coperto” on YouTube — Kacie is an American living in Italy and explains it very well!
Josie eating Micahels food- ummmm so good.. Michael takes a bite- shakes his head- so funny and typical

Extra 6 euro for that bread? Definitely tourist trap lol. Shoulda used up all the grated cheese to get your moneys worth in that case haha.
Micheal was so mad he didn’t get a bite of your food too.. #sosad😢
Pure envy when I saw the video title. The first few minutes reminds me of trying to explain how I experienced Italy in 2014 to my husband. "It's stunning! I love it!"
Just go back to Asia. The european customer service its shocking man! Why they so angry? Working with people when they hate people, at least thats how it comes across. Thats just my personal feeling about it, the vibe is always so off, meh
High on my bucket list! Heraldo recently went back there and it is in his top 3 countries, so good!
Love you both, but Josie- not his fault regarding the bread. It's a lesson.
in italy they always put the bread on the table and when u eat it u need to pay for it even if u dont ask it i been to italy few times in some restaurants they even charge for the water of ur cutlery it is not a scam just a regular thing in italy
That pasta looked so good! Yum!
AUD$69 seems expensive for Italy. But you are in a big city and it's the north of Italy too.
Now I want pasta😂
Fly to Italy—just to eat pasta🍝 you two are living our dreams…
In Italy ristorante we pay "coperto" it's service and bread is usually
In Italy when you sit at a table in a restaurant you have to pay the so-called "coperto", it happens everywhere in Italy, they didn't scam you. Typically this coperto includes bread or breadsticks, and service in general.
You don't pay the bread itself, you pay what we call coperto that is the bread and the service…In Italy is like that in all restaurants, osterie, trattorie and pizzerie…
It's not a scam, in any restaurant in Italy bread and cover are paid even if you didn't ask for it. You need to know beforehand so you don't think you've been scammed. A bit like in the US where in addition to the bill you have to pay the tip but no one complains about this.
You won’t find many restaurants where you don’t pay coperto I’m afraid😊
heading to romee in a week
As other viewers have commented you were charged for the "coperto". It is not a scam but the exact charge MUST (it's a law) be mentioned in the menu. Hence, when checking the cost of the pasta, the beer, the wine etc., do check the cost of the "coperto" too. It's unavoidable but you will know upfront, before getting the bill, how much you'll be charged. No surprises at the end!
