STORY

Perched in the heart of a quaint, unsuspecting Italian village lies an extraordinary find: an 18th-century Neo-Classical villa that once symbolized power, prestige, and opulence. This architectural masterpiece, with its grand facades, towering columns, and meticulously designed gardens, was built as a statement of wealth and sophistication during a time when land and trade defined status.

This remarkable estate belonged to the illustrious Virgili family, a French-Italian dynasty whose legacy spanned over 300 years. Originally aristocrats, the Virgilis evolved into influential business magnates, seamlessly adapting to the changing tides of history. By the 20th century, they transformed their ancestral home into a luxurious wedding venue, hosting extravagant celebrations that echoed with laughter, music, and love.

However, the story of the Virgilis is not without its shadows. In 2001, a scandal involving corruption and financial crimes brought the family’s legacy to a dramatic end. Stripped of their wealth and reputation, they were forced to abandon their cherished villa. For over two decades, this hauntingly beautiful structure has stood frozen in time, a silent witness to the rise and fall of one of Italyโ€™s most prominent families.

Join us as we step inside this magnificent villa, exploring untouched artifacts that offer a rare glimpse into the grandeur and intimacy of the Virgili familyโ€™s past. From its architectural splendor to its poignant history, this forgotten gem holds stories that will leave you captivated.

  1. I just can't believe they left so many beautiful furniture pieces. The carpet in the room next to the pool table. Plus, the family should've sold the pieces. Knowing they were going to people who would love & cate for it. Instead, it's left to decay.

  2. Wow I canโ€™t believe that place is still intact after 20 years. I love the cameraman and his attention to detail and explanations. Great work guys

  3. A beautiful piece of history. The one thing that bothered me was the size of the kitchens and the size of the dining tables. (There were two small ones, right?) Italian families are usually large, and food and wine a huge part of their culture. I also wondered how they could cater large groups like weddings with kitchen's the size of small American homes. How did they manage? (Loved the balance of the rooms with the chandeliers!) Thanks for another great adventure.

  4. In the Philippines, heavy furnitures made of narra tree or the kind of expensive wood. You have to ask for a permit to cut the tree.

  5. So sad it's empty of a family. For as long as it's been abandoned, the ceilings aren't falling. Hope someone buys it. Thanks for a great video.

  6. How sad why doesnt any rich people wanna buy this place if I ever won the lottery I would restore me a european villa all that history & beauty is classic.

  7. Iโ€™ve been a follower for many years. Iโ€™m not even watching fully but cane directly here to tell you – my house – the house was inspected today. I can no longer live there. It is shameful. Iโ€™m at an old friendโ€™s house. I donโ€™t know what will happen. I love you all.
It was not a palace. But it was beautiful. My life got sad. My house got to looking like soul. Gutted. Iโ€™m sorry.

  8. Absolutely gorgeous palace! What a shame no one has rescued it! Love the architecture and art! I especially love that you investigate and share its history! Thank you for sharing! โค

  9. So much respect for the Italian people there! In America this would have been vandalized and thieves would strip anything of value! Iโ€™m amazed itโ€™s still there after so many years!

  10. Lose these buildings and lose the soul of the country… Now is the time to hold into the culture is a place, a country: once its gone we can't t get it back.

  11. Incredible! And how have those art works, furniture and carpets not been ransacked! Palace maybe. Villa better?

  12. Best exploration videos!! Thank you for the great camera work Danny!! Lesley thank you for the wonderful tour!!

  13. Such a beautiful building!! It seems such a waste to have it stand abandoned and alone; like the building would welcome children; animals and people filling it with sounds of life…exquisite details on the wooden furniture & floors not to mention the molding on the ceiling…they just don't make anything like that anymore!

  14. L'interno della villa corrisponde ad una abitazione vicino ad un lago nei pressi di…. Ha anche delle scuderie su due piani dove avevano i cavalli con annessa Club house. Bei tempi!

  15. Is this wonderful palace ment to just step inside? I donโ€™t think soโ€ฆ.so rare there is no one like family members came to make this house safe! Everything I see is so special maybe we can visit the house to have a look inside?do hope that someone takes care of this estate to save the interior .could not stand if bad people would steel or ruin the interior of the villa ! How did this team come in ..? Do they have keys?.. and allowances to step in ? strange !
