MasterChef Canada: Back to Win S07 E09 Full Episode: The Top 5 chefs were tasked with working together as one group to prep, cook, plate and execute a 5-course tasting menu, with each member cooking individually for a high-end, fine dining dinner banquet for eight anonymous culinary insiders. The five chefs agreed on an Italian-inspired menu, although Mai and Thea briefly butted heads initially, with both wanting to serve a stuffed pasta dish and decided to go ahead with their dishes, regardless of concerns of repetitiveness. Throughout the 1 hour cookoff, Thea nearly faints from the pressure and required medical attention, but finished the challenge. At the end of the cook, the judges reveal the VIP guests were the chefs themselves and the 3 judges, and all five ranked each other’s dishes. Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/MasterChefWorld

Andrew presented the first course, which was a take on a Caprese salad, was generally praised with some minor criticism pointed to his smoked tomatoes and the lack of basil punchy flavors. Mai was second, and her seafood cappelletti was greatly enjoyed by all the chefs and judges, with the only minor criticism being the superfluous usage of 2 types of shellfish. Andy was third, and his patatas bravas with octopus was too heavy with a slightly tough octopus, and was considered odd because it was a Spanish dish. Thea had the fourth course, and her ravioli doppi was also complimented, but she was criticized for her choice of skirt steak, and the judges pointed out that two pasta dishes on one tasting menu was not so fitting, which the chefs agreed with. Christopher presented the final course, and his truffle-vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate caramel mini-pastry received polarized reviews, with some praise for his adventurous ingenuity and boldness, but criticism for the bizarrely confusing, clashing flavors. Mai’s dish was ranked the best, followed by Andrew in second place and Thea in third. Andy’s dish placed fourth, meaning Christopher received last place. The judges announced there was no elimination, but Mai would receive an advantage in next week’s challenge while Christopher would be at a disadvantage.

  1. I actually kinda wish this was an elimination round. I mean why have them judge dishes if it doesn't amount to anything?

  2. wow from this episode i atleast got to know about all the home cooks personality. Bro, like in my opinion, Thea or Mai should have been eliminated, as their dishes were not so unique + they did the exact same thing which they have been doing the whole season. I am so glad , not to see Christopher get eliminated. His dish was literally the best dish among others. I'm so happy to see him back in the competition and i hope Mai gets eliminated next week (just bec of her attitude).

  3. Honestly 'Mai always makes dumplings' is super understandable because it's her job and what she's familiar with, and in the elimination challenges she proved she can cook other things!

  4. I have absolutely loved Andrew’s character ever since season 2. He has always been supportive of Christopher, as seen in their cake challenge.

  5. Thea voting for Mai just for “girl power” is infuriating because clearly Mai doesn’t seem to be a girl’s girl. It’s also iconic Mai’s dish got first place cause Thea didn’t even get to eat the damn dumpling since she’s deadly allergic to the ingredients Mai used

  6. no way they all tried to vote christopher out, the point of the voting was vote for who they think had the BEST dish and they all knew that christopher had it but decided to vote him out? like bffr. for me thea had the worst dish yet her nodding about chris having the worst dish is so diabolical. good thing chris didn't go home. he owns this season

  7. Mai‘s dumblings are not italian in any way so her criticising the other dishes for being not italian inspired is crazy

  8. it doesnt make sense to me how thea was finalist in 2 different seasons. she never stood out in terms of food in both seasons, only thing that carried her were her sob stories

  9. Mai showed her true colors in this episode. She tried to play dirty by heavily criticizing Christopher's dessert. Serves her right that she got eliminated in the next episode.

  10. God I hate Thea so much.
If you cant handle the pressure, then you dont belong in this competition.
But she gets pity points for it.

And the comments on who she voted for. The "I voted for Mai because shes a girl" annoyed me so much. The competition is about food, not feminism. And the "he should never make that ice cream again" in that tone… it makes me mad.
Somehow, thats the meanest comment I think ive heard from Mastercard Canada. I expect that snobby tone from the US version, not the Canadian one.

  11. literally every challenge, Thea has some sort of thing going on, she manages to insert herself as the main character everytime she's pressured… and then plays the pity card right after

  12. To be fair this seasons best chef overall was Christopher then Andrew then Jeremy it would've been amazing to see them all in finals… And absolute hell of a final it would've been 😢

  13. Christopher is the best n has a pure heart. N the rest r just evil. They thought they will send christopher home. How evil

  14. Thea needs to go! She voted for Mai because she's a female and wants the women to stick together…. WTF. It's cooking contest not a gender race. STUPID B*!

  15. Mai is trying so hard to be nice and supportive to them, I don't think she would do the same if everyone weren't as kind and respectful as they are.
