Some great advice George! I've stopped drinking out of choice for a few years now but when I had wine, it was usually to commemorate a special occasion. Knowing just enough to talk to a sommelier is very helpful I think! Also the movie "Sideways" is quite a fun watch that also features a lot of wine, though Merlot isn't that bad 🙂 – Han

One consideration you didn’t mention is to look at the number on the wine reflecting the sugar content whether it is a dry wine like a Pinot Grigio or a sweet wine such as Ice wine
