The amount of overconsumption is insane.
And unless you're a billionaire, you'll financially bleed to death living there. It's all pretentious and superficial. Despite my screen name, I left there for good in January. Rising costs, unbearable traffic congestion, obnoxious, egomaniac people and a declining quality of life. You can have it.

Until Miami buries I-95 south of I-395, and builds some REAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION; the city will always be a JOKE. It's literally becoming a Western Spinoff of Dubai: we all know Dubai FAILED. They build all the skyscrapers they want, but they'll never be a notable city of any caliber. The party is over in America, time to move to Asia.

Was just in Miami last week. Sounds good however the expansion while on paper sounds great. Have you driven downtown? 95 can't expand any more. The construction of the roadways still can't handle what is here now. I can't wait for all those condos all that entertainment to be filled with people If half of them drive good luck. it's a pie in the sky idea because we don't have the infrastructure. And transportation, . Brightline, have you looked to purchase a ticket on Brightline lately? I mean all these people are going to move here what about the people that are here that can't afford it now?

I'm confused….I'm not in the area. Are all of these new high-end venues OPENING in 2025? – OR- does CONSTRUCTION BEGIN on all these venues in 2025? Which if the latter….the develpments will take many years to come to fruition.
And people wonder why Floridians are leaving the state in droves? Florida has become unaffordable and our drawing more and more liberals who are wealthy enough to afford to live there. There’s nothing wrong with that because we know blue areas of the state generates the most money. I know many of my friends who live there for over 30 years, they all have sold their home to now living in Alabama. The state of Florida’s economy and housing market is not looking good.

If you are in this comment section and you are complaining about Miami growing as a city then you may be dumber than a box of rocks. Wtf do you want to happen? More government housing and dilapidated properties? How can somebody complain about their city providing new accommodations and properties and entertainment? I just moved into a new property that is offering multiple months free because of the sheer amount of units still on the market. Prices go DOWN the more available units you have you goofies. I live in Broward-Miami, and I've been watching an impressive development with construction cranes everywhere, making evident that the economy has been booming for the last two years and South Florida is a preferred target for investors.
Miami will be underwater in the future.

Everyone hating on the comments… clearly doesn't know the history of Miami… Started with Tequesta Indians, Spanish influence after, English/Anglo-Saxon pioneers, US Military base aka Ft.Dallas, eventually the boom of the white Americans in Fitz,Juila Tuttle and the Brickells. Flager really made Miami blossom, but Fisher Merrick, Collins and Douglas helped. Black Americans but especially from the Caribbean started to come over and incorporate the city. Anglo-American Snow birds and Northeasterns brought the swing, a real estate boom, and maybe a Great Depression….. fast forward after WW 2, the cold war brought Cubans and people from Nicaragua , respectively in the 60s and 80s. Columbians wanted in too, brought the parties and the cocaine. This fear of replacement is misunderstood, Miami had always had new people coming in, get use to it or leave… A fellow Miamian, but for real go to Ft. Lauderdale, we dont want overcrowdedness.
The state is BOOMING and I love to see it.
What about having a more funcional metro system and better public transport?
People ranting madly about how superficial and nihilistic the Miami lifestyle is are either too broke to get it or just lack what it takes to be part of that special 1%. Miami epitomizes the best of the best and the way I look at is I hope to work so hard and be smart and make great decisions so that one day I can enjoy and experience what this wonderful place has to offer!!

Moved to Miami in 1983, now it’s a city made for the super wealthy. At least I purchased a in the south of Chile as my backup. But I still love Miami always will.
