Meet Enrico, an Italian who has been living in Thailand for 16 years with his Thai wife and two kids. He runs successful businesses in steam cleaning and property management. Enrico shared the biggest misconceptions about Thailand in the West, why doing business in Thailand is much easier than in Europe, and how the Thai approach to work is different from that of Europeans. Enjoy!

Would you better live in Thailand or Italy?
Hi, Max. Japan 🇯🇵 is also among a few other countries that is near 100 % safe. If anyone loses things or accidentally forgot an object, Japanese people would go to all lengths to find and return the lost / forgotten object to the owner.
We had an experience way back in the early 70s when we traveled on Japan’s express train 🚅, the SHINKANSEN, my grandma lost her shoe onto the railroad track upon boarding the train 🚅. The Japanese train station staff go all the way to wait till the train had departed, they then went down to the track and picked up the shoe, catch the next train (hours away), to locate our hotel 🏨 miles and miles away at another prefecture and return the shoe 🥿 to my grandmother.
Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR only has property tax if you own a property, but other than that, Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR is virtually tax-free, unlike the USA. Everything you buy in 🇺🇸 US is taxed upon !
29:28 “Happiness is temporary.. Peace is eternal” wow said by an Italian Poet named Enrico 👍❤
For white europeans, living in Europe be better. For many Asians, Thailand would be safer as you will get sick and tired of hearing "Ching Chang Chong" on the streets. Some westerners complain, saying some Asians stare at them when travelling, I feel like it's nothing but a joke, considering how many insulting words one should bear to live in Europe as an Asian.
After living in several places in that continent, I realized we don't need to be nice for people visiting Asia, especially from Europe. They still believe they're the best and lead the world, but that's far from the reality. Some still believe that in their dreams, though.
Interesting video. TH is a nice place…Iuv the people and nature
Enrico seems to be a very nice man. He has built a successful life in Thailand, and should be congratulated. It can't be easy to come to a foreign country, start a family and run multiple successful businesses.
Great interview. As a local Thai, I have gained new perspectives from your conversation. Wish both of you have good time in Thailand.
@11:03 What he mentions is so absolutely true ! There is a constant anxiety of unknowingly or inadvertently breaking laws in Western countries and having to pay heavy fines. There is no freedom.
Great video. Thank god not another video on a retiree or digital nomad relocating to Thailand but on an solid business man….
good talk
Loved this interview!
he cant get laid in eu so he comes to thailand aint that the truth
There’s crime everywhere…maybe just less..
His days will be over with the 180 day expat taxes . Italy government is the new Thai communist government
Very good explanation of Thailand from an expats point of view. His explanation of learning to be calm and smile instead of raising your voice and arguing , like in the west, makes all the difference in the world. This is probably the biggest mistake most tourists/expats make.
Thailand is neither too expensive nor too cheap. It's Very well balanced, even the culture of Thailand is a tolerant one.
Great conversation❤
Thank you for a video.
Big thank for share everything around. Take care you your team and guest.
This guy aged very well.
In what world 30 million baht is one million dollars 😂
do not dream please, you cannot or must not leave your wallet in your room while having breakfast. this was your luck by chance!
I worked with an Italian woman for a year who, despite my poor English, was very helpful. But I can feel that aside from appearances and language, we have very similar personalities… and if, as art students, All of us and you are one of the products. of an Italian man named "Silpa Bhirasri" (Corrado Feroci) who was a teacher and laid the foundation for modern Thai art today.
👋
Live like a king in Rhailand . Live like a pauper in Europe.
As a fellow Italian, my story is quite similar to Enrico's : In Bangkok since 2012, Thai-Chinese wife, two daughters, two businesses, good quality of life etc etc. However in my case integration and understanding the local culture has been probably a bit more difficult, especially concerning the business and staff management…
I still don't believe Thailand is a good place to grow up children… Traffic is horrible, air quality is non existent, streets are loud.
Enrico, thinks very little of the most beautiful language in the world, or his native Italy, hope he has relinquished his Italian passport, it would suit his mindset.
As a Thai , Great talk and great interview. I think Italians and Thai have some attitude or mindset that maybe very similar.
