Ah Venice! One of the most beautiful cities in the world. If you want to know the best things to do in Venice, keep watching. From Gondolas to St Marks Square, the Rialto Bridge, Doge’s Palace, canals, bridges and tiny back alleys, in this video we show you the highlights of Venice, Italy, and some hidden gems too.

We have both visited Venice many times in the past, and it’s always a pleasure coming back here. On our recent Road Trip around Italy in our Campervan, we stopped off at Venice for 5 days, which gave us plenty of time to explore not only the main island, but some of the outer islands in the lagoon too.

We hope you enjoy this Venice travel guide.

  1. Great video along with some good commentary, looks like the canals are reasonably clean [compared some comments from people that were there in the late 60's early 70's] Many thanks! Bill Mc

  2. I fell in love with Italy in Venice… such an amazing place, busy but just amazing! Of course, a gondola ride, complete with soprano singing with accompanying accordionist, sealed the deal for me!! Just love Italy.

  3. oh Sue I loved Venice, I didnt see as much as you did but I also loved it there. Thanks for sharing. I feel like going back to do the things I missed out on! Maybe next time!

  4. That was brilliant, and refreshing so many memories for me. Burano, oh my, I don't think I have ever taken so many photos per square km as I did at Burano, even winning later two photo comps with those pics, just magical, thank you for bring it all back to me <3

  5. I am about to go and make an Aperol Spritz after watching this and am craving spaghetti vongole now too. 😂Such a long tome since I was in Venice, Wonderful to see it all and enter places I missed during my visit. The San Marco cathedral was completely under scaffolding, so amazing to see it relatively uncovered, as well as the amazing interior and bell tower. The water buses are such a great way to get around and see Venice at a relatively affordable price. I did so much walking and getting lost there and my very favourite part was the food, well away from the main tourist drag. That gondola ride just looked divine. I found it really disturbing to see just how sodden and under water the islands are already. Really scary and very much like what is happening on many of the low lying Pacific Islands. Venice is one of those cities, that no matter how many times you have been, it is always worth going back. Thanks for such a delightful overview of visiting Venice, Murano and Burano!

  6. Well bugger me. I did not even know that Venice is an island. Thanks for the education.
More of this style of your videos please.

  7. Seen more in your 27 minute video than I ever saw in the 40 odd times that I've been to Venice.
I used to go to a barbour for a shave, a haircut, manicure and massage and then the office (Chinese restaurant) shameful really, but you both know when you're working back to back you take your rest whenever and wherever you can get it. Another amazing video, thanks guys.

  8. Excellent video. We’ve visited twice but not done most of what you recommended. Have done the gondola ride on our honeymoon and just as we got out to the Grande Canal 💦💦💦🤣

  9. Venice looks fascinating, especially after a lot of friends have extolled it's virtues for years, after visiting and falling in love. Wonderful video of all the highlights, l bet you were buggered after covering all that ground. Well done, thank you x

  10. Thanks for the lovely tour of Venice. A lot of travel vloggers do not cover what you have covered in this video so it is much appreciated. I am watching from Melbourne Australia. I have only just found your channel. Am loving your European trip 💜💙

  11. LOVED this video. Bought back some lovely memories of our recent travels in Venice. We missed seeing the Bridge of Sighs – that makes me sad but it is what it is. Loved your trips to Murano and Burano. What a perfect idea to have a wine on your gondola ride – they certainly can feel as though you might tip over!
