  1. Indo-Chinese is one of my absolute favourite cusines. Chicken manchurian craving is something that hits me about once every 6 months and then I order it every day for 5 days straight. Rinse and repeat.

  2. My mum puts quartered boiled eggs in her cauliflower cheese. I dunno how common it is to do so. Probably because a lot of British people will eat it as a main course, I know we always did. So I expect the addition of eggs was meant to make it a bit more satisfying. She also adds a breadcrumb topping which we all think is the best bit.

  3. I wonder if county fair food is another episode? Here (Az) we have Navajo tacos. I grew up with pancit and scones (Wa).

  4. Hey! I have to share this with you. My last name is Kapary means capers! I just want you to know this🥰

  5. I totally hear you with not washing the measuring cup but I still wash it because of finger prints, or splatter from oil or cooking.

  6. 23:25 it's not just an interpretation of Chinese food. Indo chinese food is a legit cuisine because it was made by the hakka tribe chinese people who came to settle in India after they were banished by their king. then they started selling food by adjusting their dishes to the indian pallete ❤

  7. So in Germany during the spring time we eat a lot of white asparagus and we usually serve it with melted butter or a Sauce Hollandaise which is different from a cheese sauce.

  8. Beryl, after steaming the cauliflower cover it well in melted butter. Bake for some time. Then pour the cheese over it. The cauliflower will taste other worldly.

  9. For a thanksgiving celebration last night I brought the Gratin de Choux Fleur aux Oignons Caramélisés with a jarred Alfredo sauce instead of the beschamel for the sake of time. It was a HIT. Soooo creamy and delicious!

  10. New Yorker cooking German food will create a new fusion meal… one with bigger flavor palette.
How about adding chili flakes on the whole cauliflower
Or… some Cajun seasoning. It would change it to something else altogether but possibly a nice thing. What do you think?

  11. The US mother mentioned it already: Their version is also quite common in Germany… and often gets mixed 50/50 with broccoli (and potatoes on the side, we LOVE our potatoes ^^)
The cauliflower (and broccoli) get cooked in vegetable broth first to get some taste into them. (Additional potatoes peeled and cut, just with salt)
Then you make a HOLLANDAISE (NOT cream cheese !!) sauce that you CAN add some cheese to (aged Gouda, Emmentaler, Gruyère… something with aroma !) if you really want.
Then serve either the way it is or add some potatoes on the side. FUN FACT: we call it: "BLUMENKOHL" which translates as: "FLOWER-CABBAGE" (it looks like a flower in cabbage leaves)
(PS: we also commonly do the french version, again often mixed with broccoli and/or potatoes.)

  12. wait, we eat cauliflour cheese, like Dolores's recipe, widely in the UK! Now I'm wondering if it came from Germany originally

  13. I’m cool with not washing the cup that only had water in it, but did Leah get her own spoon when she ate off your plate?

  14. My Australian family’s baked cauliflower cheese has an extra layer of baking.:
Steam or boil the cauliflower till almost tender
Make a white sauce with butter and cream cheese, (or butter and flour to make a roux then loosen with milk)
Add in handfuls or grated cheese till melted (season white pepper and salt to your taste also maybe chilli flakes etc)
then in a deep pan or casserole pour the sauce over the steamed cauliflower
and toss lots of more grated cheese over the cauliflower covered in white sauce
Then bake in moderate oven till golden brown.
    Eat lots.
    Seriously truly delicious.

  15. Lmao I clicked on this video for the white sauce over whole cauliflower one but I was curious to see which country it would represent. My mum made it (from Ecuador) with bechamel (salsa blanca) and then cheese on top and to gratin pop in the oven. I have no idea where she got the recipe from but her mum worked for a family that wanted her to make European recipes so that's always a possibility? Guess ill have to ask!

  16. the cauliflower with cheese sauce..my german father in law covers the whole cauliflower with ham and its the best ^^

  17. Difficult to follow the cooking procedures.. doesn't know when she is singing, or joking or laughing giving a review of the dish.. crazy video.. & the Induan cook us just as weird..don't know what & how was cooked. No cooking..too much talking.
