Italian Cream Cake! The Best Cake Recipe Ever! My Christmas Cake
This is the best Italian Cream Cake I have ever made.
You will enjoy all the compliments you will get. Your family and friends will call you for the recipe.
1 1/2 cups of sweetened shredded coconut (toasted)
2 cups Walnuts or Pecans (toasted)
2 tsps vanilla extract
2 boxes of yellow cake mix
12 tablespoon of butter (softened)
4 tablespoons of crisco shortening
5 large eggs
1 cup water 1/2 cup of white wine or water
FROSTING
12 tablespoons of butter salted
2/14 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup cream of coconut
1 tsp vanilla
16 ounces of cream cheese
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease your cake pans (4)
2. On separate baking sheets place the coconut and walnuts or pecans into the preheated oven for 10 minutes
3. Combine cake mixes and the rest of the ingredients into the bowl and mix until combined.
4. Pour into the cake pans and let sit for about 5 minutes then place into a preheated oven for 20 minutes.
5. While the cakes are cooking prepare the icing. Place all in a bowl and mix until smooth.
6. When the cakes are completely cooled spread on the frosting and top each layer with the coconut and after you have completed layering the icing mix any left over coconut with the nuts and put on the sides of cake.

4 layer for sure for Christmas!!! I like the deeper cake pans so you can make thicker layers and half them so u actually have a 6 layer cake from 2 pans

You cook like I do! Dump and go! I’ve never made Italian Crean Cake before, but I do love nuts and toasted coconut. I toast my coconut in a non-stick frying pan on top of the stove. Your cake looks really good. I just found your channel. By the way, you look a lot like Bette Midler!
I've made this cake a lot of times and I've used the white cake mix or the swans cake flour and I don't use shortening it's hydrogenated that's not good but butter is good and I put sour cream in mine with the regular milk usually but I've used buttermilk too and I mix the eggs beat them with the milk and vanilla and then added to the flour but that's just the way I like for myself!
