I went there some years ago. It's beautiful! The sea is clear, almost transparent. Furthermore it isn't a very expensive touristic place.

When these channels discover 'hidden gems' usually they are not so hidden. Tropea (5k habitants) is the most visited town in Calabria with half million tourists in 2023. If you want to see real hidden gems there are plenty of other villages like Diamante, Amantea, Le castella… these are hidden gems
