I was already a big fan of the Italian red wine, Montefalco Rosso Riserva. This blind tasting blew past my already high opinion of this unheralded wine.

  1. Great video, as always!! Hope to meet you in one of the next Montefalco Anteprima! 🙂

Thank you for the great compliments about our wines 🙂

  2. Amazing how close they all were. What a selection. I said in my previous comment that Caprai and Antonelli are the big guns and I meant that in a good way. Antonelli, particularly, are releasing very interesting wine for those with an open mind. I have a couple of bottles of single vineyard Sagrantino stuff which I bought in Assisi (incredible place) a few years back. I'm saving them for a great Italian meal only. Those are heavy Sagrantino. Caprai are the great blenders but without any 'smoothness.' This is fantastic Umbrian wine but regular folk need to open their minds and palates. I've described it before as having inky and earthy mushroom elements. Excellent with food. WT

  3. Great video as always!

Found the Arnaldo-Caprai Sagrantino 2000 today in a small wineshop and bought a bottle after watching your video. Hope it's still in its drinking window.

  4. Rocca Di Fabbri is worth a visit. We visited this winery 4 years ago (together with Arnaldo Caprai). Had a great tasting there and bought some bottles afterwards. I think the Montefalco Rosso was only €7or 8/bottle. What a bargain it was.
