But here, you cover detailed American ettiquette guidelines that teachers can drag out in courses for weeks, and for which students often pay hundreds of $. And to think, you have offered it all FOR FREE (just joking 🙂

    My grandmother, who moved to the US in her 20s as a governess in 1900, would have loved your video and probably have me watch repeatedly..😂😂 I did eventually get it, but was stubborn about it. Love your channel and videos.

    Once again Annie, just listening to your voice puts me in the best mood! Indeed you are correct about the verbiage used by those in the luxury hospitality industry! I was a concierge at the Ritz Carlton for 10years. In order to elevate the guest experience, our ladies and gentlemen used very specific verbiage in addition to being mindful of certain word and phrases that were off limits.

    This kind of courtesy should be shared more often. We were just at a very haute, elegant, restaurant and the lack of manners surrounding us was evident. I’ll also say there were guests with impeccable manners and that did not go unnoticed.

    Hi Annie! I just love your videos!! I particularly appreciated this video posting. It was quite comprehensive. Sharing these tips will allow for the best experience for all, diners as well as the servers. (We were at a company dinner the other night and during dinner, a few people pulled out phones…two of the men were watching sports.) Ugh. My husband got up and asked them to walk with him for a moment to ask them to put away their phones as it was bad form. Thank you for this dinning 101 class. Well done!
    As for where to put my bag, I never sit back in my chair. I always bring an evening bag and place it behind me on my chair when I sit. This I feel is good form as the women then are always sitting a bit forward, and appear very engaged in the conversation. I picked this tip up from Downton Abbey… they didn’t bring their bags to the table, but as in those times, women never sat resting on the back of the chair. I think of it as sitting on a stool. I feel doing this keeps my clutch clean and safe, and while I sit, I am engaged in conversation, and look it! 🥂

    I'm shocked at the way people hold their fork and knives at restaurants, especially upper scale restaurants. My husband and I like to dine at nice places but lately have really noticed how some cut their steak. Its unreal! Mostly younger kids in their 20's and 30's but to me its just common sense so I don't understand how someone doesn't know this.

    lol the bubbly wine thing is in some circles highly controversial as the French invented this rule around the time that Australian started to really excel at doing sparkling wine
