Chicago may be the land of hotdogs and pizza, but here’s a truth bomb: the Italian Submarine Sandwiches that the city has to offer can rival any in the country. Ask any Chicagoan worth their salt, and they’ll tell you it’s all about that perfect balance of savory imported meats, spicy giardiniera, fresh veggies, and just the right drizzle of oil and vinegar, all hugged by a pillowy, crusty roll. Grab a stack of napkins, because we’re getting into Chicagoland’s finest Italian Subs—the real-deal classics AND some bold new twists. Mush!

A lot of love for Graziano's which is a very average sub at best
So I’m a Wiseguy Guy… no vinegret extra hot giardinarea and everything else!!!
Cheap on the meat!! U need to come to Jersey n Philly!!
Bari was my first love, so I'm def biased, but living on block for two years made it was hard to resist a weekly sub, especially back when the 12" Italian Hot was 6.50$ <<<(and I believe they got their bread from D'Amatos before the big break up). Nothing beats Bari homemade giard tho. If you were lucky you'd ham it up with some of the fellas at the Boomerang Social Club across the street to bring extra flavor to the Grand experience.
Not exactly in Chicago, but D&D Finer Foods has great subs up in Evanston! Worth the trip
Yeah, your videos are bitter sweet😅 it’s a love-hate brother. It’s so hard to watch you eat all this bomb food, but you make such awesome videos. And I can’t wait to get back to Chicago this year. I now have a hell of a list to choose from 😌🙏🏻 thank ya sir. Keep it up
Wow, privileged pos as guest. Couldn't get a real person
Fake Italians
Didn't realize that all the places were on one side of Chicago?? Seriously wtf
Joseph looks Hispanic 😂😮!
Lived on Taylor across from Conte for years. All these place are great, however Conte, Fontano’s, and Pompeii will always be my faves
Great take on D'Amatos #1. I can't drive by there without stopping, that's the true test.
It's not an Italian, but the Yummy at Bert's Deli is AMAZING!!! Jewish Deli up in Libertyville on Milwaukee is to die for!
Love Taylor street
talk about portion control! 🙂
This is one of my most favorite foods just good subs. Just a good sandwiches.
Pompeii is literally one of my absolute favs. Herb chicken ravioli 😊
Looks amazing
This demands an immediate follow-up episode by covering the Italian corridors on the NW and W side of the city where Nottoli and many others have been thriving for decades. Let's go, Adam!
Submarine Tender in Forest Park is one of my faves. All others mentioned here are tops.
OK, Vinnies @7:39 in – what's with the 2 bizarre looking photos????
I was born in Little Italy… They broke it up… We ended up moving to what some refer to as Li'l Tuscany. 22nd & Oakley baby! Home of some of the best mom and pop owned sit down Italian Restaurants that are going on a century old.
Sadly, as those restaurants are still there, the funeral parlor (mom …rest her soul) is gone.
Our friend Danny's family owned the mom&pop Ace Hardware… that's all gone. St Michael's church and grade school looks destroyed.
When the Italians finally say "goodbye" to the Church…there's no turning back. So, sadly our neighborhood on the West side is also gone. (except the restaurants…they are still there)
Thank you for doing this video.
I actually got emotional watching it.
-Giovanni ✌️
Italians have come so far now they're running the new immigrants out of THEIR neighborhoods!! Irony at it's finest!🤣
You can get great places if you go to the burbs. Rex's, Ozzie's, etc.
Don't knock Boston's North End or Rhode Island's Federal Hill. They will give you a run for your money.
I like how the New York accent sounds like a regular person talking except they breath through their mouth because their noses are too big to properly breathe through.
Best Italian Sub is Rubinos in Tinley Park!!! Best Italian Deli!!
