Thank you for pointing out the horse abuse. They don't get proper care, food, breaks, or time to just be a horse.
Life long nyc resident, never use the tall gates to get on subway. They fail and trap people.
Thanks for sharing, I’m In New York City, looking for new friends

Here are additional MUSTS to piggy back on Barr Bro's suggestions:
1. If using a Citi Bike or LIRR Train App (between NYC and Long Island) sometimes those two apps freeze. Just close the apps and re-open them and they will work. But, they won't work if you are underground under water in tunnels. Also, when deciding what Citi Bike to pick to ride NEVER pick a bike that does not have a motor on it. Motor-less bikes usually are very hard to ride. The Citi Bike company messes them up on purpose so that you have to spend money using the motor version which is a pedal assist bike and is so easy and fast to ride. Also, if riding a bike or scooter always wear polarized sunglasses. You really need clear eye vision on bikes when the sun is right in your eyes. It is VERY dangerous if the sun is glaring in your eyes and cars are inches away from you.
2. If downloading Google Maps the best one to download is called MapsGo from Google because it has a really good feature where you first tap at the bottom how you will travel Drive, Walk, or Bike. Then you can tap so that once you input your starting point and your destination points. Then based on the traveling method you choose the map will pick the best route for you and as you travel the map speaks out loud where you have to turn next without you even having to look at the map. But, if you put the map in your pocket while traveling don't let the screen make contact with anything so the map screen won't turn off. It is truly the best traveling app in New York and the United States.
3. If ordering food on Uber Eats try not to also order drinks in the order because in NYC they always charge twice or three times the price. So, order your food and if you can buy the drinks yourself in a local grocery store for much cheaper. The cheapest and most delicious drink in NYC for the locals is Arizona drinks for only one dollar and the size is large almost twice the size of regular Pepsi cans.
4. If choosing between Mexican Taco stands and Arab Gyro stands the Arab stands are always way cheaper where you can buy a Gyro or Chicken and Rice with white sauce with any other sauce you want for 6 to 8 dollars on average. They also sell Lamb meat. Those guys are all over Mid Town Manhattan and in some parts of Queens and Long Island usually near trains or big businesses.
5. The cheapest places to buy clothes in New York City are usually are around Spanish, or Black, or Chinese neighborhoods such as Chinatown, Washington Heights, and Harlem. But, do NOT go to some of these neighborhoods after the sun goes down. Crime increases at night in those areas.
6. NEVER EVER stop to talk to strangers in NYC that want to engage in a conversation with you. You are a tourist so you cannot give directions. Many scammers try to either distract you or bait you into doing something where you will end up losing something. Just walk away and don't even acknowledge them. Keep an eye on them after you ignore them in case they follow you. I know many of you come from very friendly places around the world and find it hard to ignore people. But, you need to become smart when in NYC. Don't even say sorry I cannot help you. Just walk away.
7. If you are outside of Manhattan in one of the other boroughs most shops open at 10am on weekdays and Saturdays. On Sundays many shops are closed. Within Manhattan in Midtown most shops open seven days a week after 9am. But, check Google Maps always to see hours for specific stores before going to it.
8. The best times of the years to come to NYC are July 4th around the South Street Sea Port. There you can see the Independence Day Fireworks for free starting at 9pm which occur for about half an hour done by a professional Italian family called the Gucci family. Bring a radio with headphones and tune in around FM radio stations that synchronize the music to the fireworks. Of course Christmas is another great time to be in Manhattan at Rockefeller Center where they have the tallest tree in New York City. You may spot some celebrities hanging out or participating on TV on December 25 there. Also, on July 4th head on out to Coney Island very early because at 10am on the board walk every year they have the Hot Dog Eating contest where participants try to eat as many hot dogs at one time as possible. Not for the faint hearted but the cheering is very loud and communal. The Feast of San Gennaro Italian street festival is on lower Manhattan on Grand street usually in the middle of September every year at night. Google for exact days. There they close down the streets and put up food stands with Italian sausage and peppers and they have little Italian restaurants with long lines for authentic Italian ice cream and icys. I grew up there and I truly recommend it. There also go to the iconic Ferrara restaurant for the best Canolis and Calzones hand made.
Check out other Here Be Barr videos he has tons of great advice that is always correct. Cheers.

What's not to do? look for food at 2 a.m. I've done it many times everything's closed…. every city in the world sleeps….
Is the flat rate taxi also available from Chelsea to JFK? How to book to JFK?
Ok its been since the 1980’s and 90’s since i been to New York. And then i had family to show me around. Is little Italy still in a place to go for Italian food? And for that fact, what about Chinatown? Does Times Square still have all of the old pie spots?

Thank you for looking out for the horses 👍🏽
NO DESIRE TO VISIT ANY DEMON RAT STATE. I HAVE COMMON SENSE

Food in New York is bad. FYI.
#1 Relax.
Who tf gets a hotel at Times Square and eats there? Its like super expensive and the food quality is so bad.
Helpful! Thanks!!!
Do they allow to carry suitcases on the train and bus?
I really appreciate your videos. My husband and I will be in NY in a couple weeks and I’m gleaning from several of your videos. We’ve been to NY a couple of times and did most of the touristy stuff but as you know NY is a big city and there’s more to do. Anyway, thanks for the great content! Looking forward to our trip!
Also, be careful about the possibility of getting lost in the central park!
Great video/advice – thank you 😊
Thanks for standing up for the horses! so sympathetic !!!
We saw Back To The Future in London . It was superb !
What turnstile goes clockwise? I’ve never seen one. If you go the wrong way through a turnstile you get what you deserve. Don’t be a moron.
Thnks 4 u'r work <3
Thanks for mentioning the horse-drawn carriage. Please DO NOT TAKE THEM! Leave animals alone! Walk or take a pedicab! 🙏🏼♥️
Went in March '24. Never bought a Metro Card. Just used my phone, apple pay, for every entrance into the subway, super easy.
