It may take a while to stop the boats etc but it
would be a start if Starmer and co. at least showed whose side they were on. Even a little reassuring rhetoric would help. Renaming the boat people "irregular" rather than illegal does not inspire confidence and trust.
Neither does the two-tier policing and justice system, which has proved a real early shock to many. No longer is there even any attempt to deny it. It shows brazen disregard, verging on contempt, for our own people.

The solution is easy, stop giving them freebies such as hotel accommodation, free access to NHS and Dentist’s, Education and access to School’s, Smart Phone, Weekly Allowance etc. On arrival to the UK give the immigrants a tent the same as they receive in France.
Interpreters should be stopped. We speak English in the UK and if an immigrant cannot speak English then they must provide their own interpreters.
