Stevie Beef Cannone was a low-key Bonanno mobster tied to one of the Mafia’s most notorious power plays.

Although bouncing around the underworld for decades, with a serious criminal record to prove it, Steve Cannone was generally not known to the general public. He was first identified as a mafia “associate” back in the early 1950s. By the 1970s, the FBI was firmly carrying him as the new Bonanno Family “Consigliere.”

And while he operated relatively low-key and under the radar in various rackets throughout the years, all that changed in 1979 with the sensational gangland execution of mob boss Carmine Galante.

This American Mafia video focuses on Stefano (Stevie Beef) Cannone’s life and times. It features notorious gangsters such as Carmine Galante, Neil Dellacroce, Paul Castellano, Joe Bonanno, Philip (Rusty) Rastelli, Anthony (Bruno) Indelicato, Gaspare DiGregorio, Paul Sciacca, and discusses the Mafia Commission Trial.

  1. Love to see a video on the highly underrated and unknown (Gasparino Di Gregorio) a powerhouse in the bonannos

  2. I love these old Lower East Side Bonanno guys from the 70s/80s. I don't know why, but It's one of my favorite chapters of mob history.

  3. Always have been curious about Stevie Beefs. You see the footage from right after the Galante hit and it's obvious he was an important part of that and in fact a shot caller on that hit.

  4. This is by far the best and only channel that hasn’t interviewed some rat to tell his story keep it comen Cugine 🇮🇹🤌🏼

  5. The old time bonanno wiseguys did alot of work. I wouldn't be surprised if each had over 5 hits or more a piece. Lefty guns said he had 26 hits. Question. . How many guys are buried in the basement of all those social clubs?? Just curious.

  6. I'm glad you're back in the saddle. ❤ I have an idea for you: do a video on the guys that ran the social clubs for the Mafia. You never hear about them. The clubs, from what I've gathered had managers that ran them for the families.

  7. I wonder how the Bonanno Family would have been in the 60’s if LILO never went away 👌🏼.

  8. Hi Lisa and The Other Guy I hope you’re both well.
I was just 20 seconds into this video and I thought this is gonna be a great video to watch and I was right, in fact I enjoyed it so much this the second time I’m watching it guys.
I guess when everyone on the commission apart from Carmine Persico votes for someone to be whacked then they have to go, with no questions asked but he was definitely a tyrant in the world of organised crime and I guess they were just glad to see the back of him really.
Thanks again for posting this video onto YouTube for us to watch I really enjoyed it best wishes to you both from Stevie boy.

  9. That is my uncle Steve. We used to go visit him in Mattituck. My uncles had a bunch of bungalows there back in the 60s and early 70s.

  10. Wasnt bruno indelicato the supposed driver on a hit with vinny gorgeous over vinny gorgeous son being threatened? I could be wrong but im almost positive that was him

  11. I would always wonder who were those real old guys that would hang out by 1Police Plaza in the early 80's. That was Beck st,where Joe Beck and his crew hung out

  12. This is incredible. I always wanted to know more about this guy. Have you done a nicky glasses video yet?
