This beautiful late 18th-century villa with a large private pool sits behind a pair of old iron gates on the edge of a tiny hamlet, set in the hills between Greve and Panzano in Chianti. The number of towns and villages to visit is too long to list; this is the heart of the Chianti Classico, one of the most beautiful spots in the world and a dream-come-true for foodies and wine-lovers alike. Located nearby is the estate of Vignamaggio, on which villa “Il Cenobbio” is situated, and where Mona Lisa was said to be born. The word “Chianti” was allegedly first coined here, more recently the film “Much ado about nothing” was filmed in this area.
Greve in Chianti is the largest nearby town that offers a great selection of shops, restaurants and weekly markets; it is 4 miles away, whilst Florence is less than 25 miles along the scenic Chiantigiana road that cuts through the Chianti.
