Exploring the cost of living in Italy reveals an inviting perspective on achieving a dream lifestyle affordably. I’m Karl Pierre, and I’ve navigated the journey of purchasing property in Italy, including a house in Sicily for just $1.16, showcasing the potential for incredible deals and a cost-effective lifestyle. Italy, especially places like Sicily, offers an economical alternative to living in the USA, with significant savings on rent, food, and overall lifestyle.
Renting in Italy, particularly in less tourist-centric locations, can drastically reduce living expenses. A comparison between a 3-bedroom apartment in Palermo, Sicily, and one in Oklahoma City—both cities with a population of about 700,000—illustrates the difference. While the average rent in Oklahoma is around $1250, in Palermo, it’s about $760, nearly 40% cheaper. Smaller towns like Mussomeli offer even more dramatic savings, with rents as low as 300 euros.
The gastronomic culture of Italy is renowned not only for its quality but also for its affordability. Local markets brimming with fresh produce, cheeses, and meats offer lower prices compared to the US. Dining out in Italy can also be economical, especially when opting for family-run establishments over tourist areas. This aspect of the cost of living in Italy enables residents and visitors to savor Italy’s culinary excellence without overspending.
Adopting the Italian lifestyle means embracing leisure, family, and the joy of simple pleasures, leading to a potentially lower expenditure on entertainment and more on enriching experiences. The Italian approach to life emphasizes activities that are both fulfilling and affordable, like attending local festivals, exploring the countryside, or enjoying a coffee in a quaint piazza. This lifestyle not only enhances quality of life but does so in a surprisingly cost-effective manner.

I am interested in spain.
I tried to sign up for your mentoring sessions but you don't have any more dates available. Why do you mention it in the caption?
We rented, and I can absolutely agree with what you've said. 😍 Awesome info ~ thanks for sharing.
What are your thoughts on moving to France? Houses and farms are very affordable. Im not meaning Paris or expensive cities. Im thinking town of Tours size town and up north by near Italian alps areas but on France side
You sound like me talking about why we want to move to Spain. I did a cost comparison of my cost in FL compared to living there too.
I visited Capri maybe 15 years ago and the lemoncello was ridiculous at the time I think $14 for a LEMONADE. We were shocked, so yeah tourist towns…crazy prices. It was REALLY GOOD THOUGH they have type of lemon that is super sharp/sweetish.
I heard if you buy a property in Italy, it can't be passed on to others when you die. Is this true?
Great info. and all true. How's the food in those other areas you mentioned compared to Sicily, where it is even much cheaper? Ahahah. I already know the answer. Also, just as a side note, Unimpresa just reported that Sicily was the 2nd region in all of Italy in economic growth for 2023 at +12%, Molise 1st at +14%, but is much smaller than Sicily. Most of the biggest increases were in southern regions. Best regards.
2k/month for rent is not affordable or “cheap” to me!! My mortgage for a detached home in a neighborhood with a private yard and 2 car garage is $1,700/month. (Suburb of Tampa, Florida).
With that being said, The quality of life over there vs here is leaps and bounds higher/better over there, IMO!
I watched the video yesterday. I am a dual citizen from the Los Angeles area. My wife and I are kicking around the idea of moving to Sicilia. I have cousins in Casteldaccia and Corleone and friends also in Corleone. I would like to communicate with you more about life in Sicily. The primary thing that concerns me about moving there is how people drive like maniacs in Palermo.
We/family bought a Villa in Sicily on the north coast. I'm a digital nomad so most of my work is remote. I do at times have to fly back to the US for work but not often. I love the lifestyle, although it took me time to get accustomed to the more relaxed, slower-paced, and chill culture. We have met many ex-pats from the US here in Sicily so it is becoming a more popular destination for retirees and digital nomads.
Can you make a monthly expenses in budget in Milan ?
Great info!
How is safety there? Didn't here good things about that…mafia etc
All true what you tell, but you missed the Sicily is Mafia's home. If your bussiness is big enough, you will be share it with them.
Hello! Looking to relocate to Europe soon but would you recommend Ft Lauderdale on a short term basis? I have to build my business more and I’m thinking about expanding it to Ft. Lauderdale for a year. How are Black people treated there? Thanks!
Please let us know about the weather in this areas. Thanks 😊
I have a duals citizenship for Italy. I’m from Australia and want to either move to Italy or Spain. I wanted to study and work. Is it doable? I would need a job and I only want to rent a room not a whole apartment

What is so frustrating about these videos. They fail to mention the rate of exchange from dollar to euro. YOU FREAKING UP TO 22% LOSE MONEY. THE EXPRESSION BUYER BE WARE DEFINITLY IS NOT MENTIONED HERE. RATE OF EXCHANGE WILL BREAK THE BANK. TRUST ME I KNOW BECAUSE I LOST EVERYTHING!!!!! 6:13
Why your website blocked?
