  12. It wasnโ€™t specifically rock that came out of Pompeii. It was mostly ash and pumice (which is fairly light weight) that went up into the air from what I recall from documentaries.

  13. It wasnโ€™t rock that killed the residence of Pompeii. It was mostly the toxic gasses that killed the residents. Those that failed to evacuate either dude from toxic gasses or eventually got buried in the ash and puma that fell.

  14. Actually there were natural warnings of tremors days before Vesuvius erupted. How ever resistants of Pompeii didnโ€™t realise how big the eruption would be so ignored the warnings. There has been earthquakes from 62 AD when many buildings were flattened in Pompeii. But it had been several hundred years since the volcano had actually erupted and in those days there was no word for volcano. However since 79ad there have been many eruptions (in in 17th century 6 in 18th century & 8 in the 19th century) but non on the scale that destroyed Pompeii in 79ad.

  15. The pockets where the bodies were were filled with plaster (As in plaster of Paris). And then the ash was chipped away leaving the plaster casts of the bodies behind.

  16. Jace is probably right about the fights. Back in Roman times there may well have been gladiators entertaining spectators in the amphitheater.

  17. I find thereโ€™s vids so interesting Iโ€™m loving learning new things and history โค๏ธ
