It is a busy and very hot summer in Italy! The lifestyle of living in a place like Le Marche really hots up during the long summer months. Many events and parties are keeping me busy and enjoying the downtime away from the house renovation.
The Summer Jamboree in Senigallia starts this week and it is my first time attending. I meet up with new friends that have contacted me locally or through YouTube. This party week is amazing – especially as it is a free event.
My lovely neighbours invite me for a BBQ and I catch up with a few other locals as everybody seems to be here at the same time this summer. I also get to test out my new bike, courtesy of Fucare Bike.
This year in Italy has been really hot. Too hot at times for working inside the faemhouse on the renovation. Outside working on the land is hard and slow going with so many breaks needed to rest in the shade. In this video I clear up the trees and bushes following us pulling the barn roof down and I also find a wasp nest inside the outhouse that needs to be sorted before it gets too big and dangerous.

I am catching up on the comments and there is a split camp on the ‘bees or wasps’ conversation. I am not here to upset anyone and I want to assure you that I would not kill off bees knowingly.
Going from previous experience of what has been nesting here, I was convinced that these were wasps. I wonder if the GoPro colour and natural lighting has made the paper looking nest more yellow than paper grey.
Thank you for all your comments and positive feedback and I honestly hope that I have not upset anybody in spraying these insects. I will try to contact a local bee keeper before I do anything next summer.

The mower looks like a good purchase. Even better will be a sit down with all that land. The bike looks like a sturdy off road bike. It has been really hot here too this week. The Santa Anna hot winds are blowing. Take it easy and do not work too hard in the heat. 🙏💕

I suggest you shop for a used riding lawnmower, which will also double as mini lawn tractor. It is amazing how much you can do with it. For example, you can drag those trees easily behind it. Save your body!!! When you are hurt or tired the work stops! Your back cannot be replaced.
Wow, that's a great bike! You gotta get a better bike lock though! Someone's going to cut right through that and steal it!

Bees look a lot smaller with a different color
and make a different nest
Bike is a wonderful way to see the beautiful countryside there

Im a beekeeper and they weren’t honey bees mate, they looked like some sort of paper wasp. Bees make a wax comb not one from pulp

You always have to plan for nothing happening in August and the beginning of September here in italy..
the active ingredient in Raid was tested by the Sopviets to use for chemical warfare. I was dropped because it is active for too long and would make the territory uninhabitable

If I may, from personal experience (I know it may not be cost affective at this time), buy or rent a chipper for all those tree cuttings and use it for mulching your property. The same for getting a small lawn tractor with a bucket and wagon. Think of standardizing on a set of battery operated tools (I prefer Dewalt) eg a sawzall, pruners, drill, saw, drill, hedgetrimer and lawntrimer(wiper sniper). A good two wheeled well arrow would be good also. I know this all means more money but I believe you body will thank you, I know I will be 78 next month and I still do my own property stuff ( as well as help others!!).
