  1. Quick Disclaimer: this video is intended just for fun purposes and is not meant to take seriously!
We are not professionals food critics, so if any of your favorite foods was rated low don’t take it personal 🙏
Also please give me new tips for foods to try!❤

  2. New subscriber here! I've been to Italy a few times and have totally fallen in love with the cuisine there, so I find it a bit shocking that you actually like many of the things you've tried (i.e surströmming etc). 😀

  3. Food? Peanut rings are snacks. Leverpastej is more like it, usually used on bread for breakfast or sometimes in Smörgåstårta for birthdays/other occasions.

  4. As a swede myself. I don't like pickled herring in anyway , shape form. I'm impressed they liked it as good as they did.

  5. Gravad lax is the best Swedish food. I prefer it with butter on tunnbröd and extra sea salt!

  6. You dont mix leverpastej and kaviar, although he didnt mix them i dont think they work on the same time. Kaviar should have been with eggs and not in company of leverpastej. No swede eats these things at the same time:)

The food/snacks all have their place and time

  7. Actually Djungelvrål is dipped in ammonium chloride, not sodium chloride which is table salt–

  8. High praise from Italy! I like it as Italy produce fresh top notch ingredients. Don't get me wrong, Sweden has good stuff to eat too but in our cuisine we had to salt, smoke and pickle our way through a long winter and it shows in pretty much all of our traditional dishes.

  9. Let your family try Västerbottensost (Västerbotten cheese from Burträsk). It's really good with pasta and pizza, but my favourite food with this cheese is Västerbotten cheese pie (Västerbottensostpaj). So delicious!

  10. You should have tried a really traditional Swedish dish, all kids love it, it's called "spaghetti med köttfärssås". Dont think you've ever had anything like it. Also, we have this thing called "pizza" (well, it's mostly immigrants from turkey or the middle east who make to but it's basically our national dish), maybe you've heard of it, it's very good.

  11. really cool video dude! i really like how calm and composed you are, no overflow of energy or loudness. very refreshing very calming 🙂

  12. Italian food is wonderful! When you down there perfected food culture some 1000 years ago we up here in Sweden ate whatever we could find to survive. I am glad you tried some of our food! I agree with your father, pickled herring is not really good. But gravad lax is really great with new potatoes and sour cream! And the hard bread that we used to make to preserve it over the winter, I love it and eat it for breakfast almost every day.

  13. I really enjoyed your video! It was so fun to see you try Swedish foods! But why did you buy "smör" for baking and not for sandwiches? And I think your relatives thought that the "gravad lax" was the same as "rökt lax". It is a big difference. For example butter (smör) for baking is more fat and hard. "Gravad lax" is not smoked. It is rare and conservated with salt and sugar and the must disgusting spice: white peppar. Personally, I don't like "gravad lax". Smoked salmon is on the other hand the common thing that the nordic countries are known for. I love it myself!

  14. Yeah … Fun to watch, but get in touch with me and I'll prepare some authentic and hardy Swedish dishes for your lovely family to try out. For free.

  15. Try also this: Fry the "gravad lax" light to create "bräckt gravad lax". Just as delicious and if feels more like a cooked meal.

  16. Yes, it was all for fun purposes, but still…Most Italians think their taste buds are more developed and refined just because…I don't know…'cause tomatoes were introduced there from the Americas a few hundred years ago? Or pasta from Asia?

  17. As a swede this was fun to see :p, bilar (cars) are 10/10, that candy is so good haha. Dont forget butter on the knäckebröd (hard bread) makes the kaviar feel abit less salty too. There are also various of "kaviars" one is called "Svennes" which isnt as instense fishy taste/smell as the other ones :p

  18. you need potatoes, sourcream with like redonions or springonions and a good beer to go with the herring brooo

  19. I think gravad lax on it´s own can be a bit overwhelming. Better to have it with a squeeze of lemon and a little mayo or squeeze of lemon and gravlaxsås (sweet mustard/dill/vinegar sauce).

  20. The #1 thing to try in Sweden in my honest opinion, is the infamous "Swedish" Kebab Pizza. Not a lot of food beats that fucker and I wholeheartedly believe it's the most ordered food/meal in all of Sweden.

  21. Just finished bingewatching all your videos and I got to say, you make some of the best vlogs I've seen, so happy to see this particular video blowing up now! 😀
Both you and your girlfriend seem like such kind, fun, down to earth and just cool people in general to be around. How did your family like Sweden? 🙂
I grew up near Linköping in a 20k population city and always had nature near, because my grandparents lived out on the countryside, with many similarities to what you guys have got going on, it's very nice seeing you guys enjoy the nature as much as we do, most swedes are outdoor-sy people who love to go out and do stuff in the nature (apart from maybe Stockholm lols.)
Looking forward to seeing what you put out next.

Btw, is there any way to get in touch with you? Like an instagram or something similar? 🙂

  22. It should be considered that as a country so far north our climate has historically not allowed for fresh foods year round. Which is why there is such a heavy emphasis on pickled, cured and fermented food which means we are able to enjoy those flavors.

  23. As a swede I'm quit offended by this video.
This is like tasting italian food and only taste pasta without sauce, only with ketchup.
    Excamples
KALLES caviar goes best with boiled eggs on hard bread.
Harring and GRAVAD LAX should be eaten with fresh potatoes.
You also have a special sauce for GRAVAD LAX = Gravlaxsås. (=Swedish mustard-dill sauce).
    …etc..etc…
    THIS IS JUST OUTRAGEOUS!!!
