  1. My parents were raised by Italians of different regions and always argued about the right kind of pasta with which sauce. My father was an impatient pragmatist, more American, and my mother tried to do everything "right," more Italian housewife. When my father learned, one evening, that he couldn't have clam sauce because we had spaghetti in the house but no linguine, there was a major altercation. He just couldn't understand the difference–stringy pasta is stringy pasta. Basta. But we didn't have the clam sauce for dinner that evening.

  2. Grazie per il video! Hi Katie, that is my nightmare – penne and, you know. Did they get angry with you when you said that??

  3. I am not even halfway through this video but I just had to pause it, to congratulate Matteo on an amazing presentation of the meaning of the words mentioned so far, always in relation to their constituent parts. Time now to get back to the video!

  5. Very useful video with detailed explanations. I find you two really friendly and natural. It's like I'm learning Italian from very close friends of mine. This is another thing that makes your videos lovely. Grazie mille.

  6. The farfalle are bloody difficult. Do you want the body or the wings al dente? You can't have both!

    Grazie mille per il video!

  7. A maggio ho seguito un corso su come fare le orecchiette a Lecce. Ho anche visto delle donne fare le orecchiette a Bari, nel centro storico. E, naturalmente, le ho mangiate con le cime di rapa.

  8. Learning is so much fun with the two of you. I rewatch your videos over & over, coming away with a smile every time.

  9. I love the style and content, especially about the pasta, what a journey for learning. Keep up the good show.😺

  10. To Farfalle or not to farfalle? A question so far-out its folly to answer it. <mi dispiace – that's the best I coud do).
