  1. "Italy's Alice D'Amato Wins Gold. Simone and Suni stumble" – you don't need to put AFTER, it is disrespectful towards the winner (who, unlike the other two, was also good at not falling from the beam)

  2. Congrats to Rebeca Andrade, gold medal, Simone is perfect, let Rebeca shines, this final was a desaster, everybody fail, man competition was worst, OMG

  3. Congrats to Alice D’Amato on winning gold in the balance beam final! 🇮🇹🏅 It’s impressive to see her shine in such a high-stakes competition. Simone Biles and Suni Lee’s falls were unexpected, but that’s the nature of gymnastics—anything can happen. Hats off to Alice for seizing the opportunity and delivering an outstanding performance! 🌟🤸‍♀

  4. Let's talk about final scores:

    Alice D'Amato got 14.366;
    Zhou, WHO ALSO STUMBLED, got 14.100 and a SILVER medal;
    Italian 17 y.o. gymnast Manila Esposito was 3rd, with 14.000.
    Biles and Lee, who fell, got 5th and 6th place with 13.100. –> If they didn't fall, they could get +1 point, so totally 14.100.

    Let's talk about penalties:
    If you stumble and touch the beam with your hands to catch balance, you lose 0.5 point.
    If you stumble and leave the beam, you lose 1 full point.
    If you do an extra-move to avoid a fall (like Manila did), you lose something between 0.1 and 0.5, it depends on the case.

    Stumbling isn't everything: in the case of the Chinese gymnast, the routine was judged silver worthy, better than Esposito's (who also was about to stumble, but brilliantly managed to catch her balance like a cat just raising her leg: check out the video).

    If Biles and Suni did not stumble, they would have got +1 points, so 14.100 instead of 13.000 –> 3th place? Maybe, but wait: if Manila didn't make her mistake as well, she would have got a final score between 14.100 and 14.500. –> So curious, 3th place for Manila again!
    The only gymnast who potentially lost something here was Zhou: she would have got +0,5 more if she didn't touch the beam with her hand when she was about to stumble.
    In other words, if NOBODY stumbled, Zhou would have got gold, Alice silver and Manila bronze.

    Many technical aspects must be considered in these exercises, that's why the judges are athletes and not journalists. And a fall does not completely compromise the chance of winning a medal, if the rest is still perfect and better than the other performances (see Zhou's medal).

    Still, wherever you go in Internet, you read that Alice won gold "because of" Simone's mistake. This is totally wrong. Simone Biles is great and got many golds in her career, but every competition is a new world of possibilities. Biles has never won gold medals because of her name: she won gold medals when she was the best of the day, and this time she simply was not. Alice was.

    Alice deserves more respect than this. Stop belittling her because of Simone's mistake: it's an unfair and unsportsmanlike behavior.

  5. Simone is a born champion and that can never be taken away from her, but talking about the basics for a moment, the worst mistake one can make on the beam is to lose balance and fall from it, it's an automatic deduction of many points so no chance she could've won. From the lovely Alice's point of view, the fall is someone else's trouble and she still has to perform on the highest level and she delivered. On this specific beam routine, she outclassed Simone and did everything better from start to finish, and she deserves the respect. Period. .

  6. small detail but Simone feel in the middle of their series and Suni fell at the end, so it is the other way around
