From my short experience, foreign foods in Malaysia are generally suck. It's kind of evolutionary stuff, it takes about 10 to 15 years to gradually become good especially when the origin people get involve.
For example Japanese. Nowadays a lot of Japanese restaurants are very authentic because it runs by the real Japanese compare than 20 years ago.

A carbonara with cream is a definite NO in Italian cuisine. And the raw egg yoke on top is just plain ridiculous.

The only decent Italian cuisine outside of Italy is pizza. No pasta dish as good as in Italy. Especially the Carbonara, there is no freaking cream in it at all!
